Notions

What if it was Jay's imagination (hallucination or not) that called Slendy to that place? He said that TO was there in the tall grass, but at the time nothing was visible. Then a moment later there TO was, right in the tall grass.

Did anyone feel like shortly before the pair went down to the basement, the light on the wall was all reddish as if it was just sunset at that moment?...like, the change from day to night was sudden but not instantaneous...

I've noticed that we don't actually have a single time jump here. It's as if time was accelerated all the while they were in the house. This is shown to us as a continuous series of actions. There are no jump-cuts that would show missing taping time, apart from the bit where Jay rewound the camera to show Tim his "hallucination" (edit -- and the cut eliminating the return through the kitchen at 5:40), but surely neither took hours.

And yet hours passed. When they arrive, the light looked like this:

When they go to get the flashlights, it looked like this:

At first the sun was almost directly overhead, so there was strong light coming in through a few windows at a high angle :

But this moment in one of the bedrooms, that's evening light beaming straight in, as if it were near sunset.

Small wonder it was night by the time they got to the basement.

Does the presence of TO always do this? Did he want it to be night before he made his move, and willed it to be so for anyone in the house?

There's a cut at 5:40.

There is indeed.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
But I'm reasonably sure that was an editing glitch. In terms of story, what are we to see?
Unless I'm confused about the layout of the house, I think all that was missing was a walk back through the kitchen. Clearly, they're on their way to get the flashlights one moment, and then step out the door to get the flashlights. Again, some small amount of time passes, but surely not the hours from noon until sunset.

I think that cut is for the actual time to pass out of game

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Troy is usually cleverer about such things, though. He'll simulate a camera drop or a sudden movement or something like that to cover the cut. I suspect it was a problem with the action somehow, and they didn't want to re-shoot the whole thing.

About this face... I have a theory. It is very clear to me that The Operator formed a face deliberately when Tim started mentally challenge the abomination. I think this was an act of intimidation and psychological torture. So, my theory is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
what if this face is actually a face of someone Tim knew/knows? From the Hospital or his family? Another explanation I have comes from original Slenderman thread - remember, originally the idea was that each person sees his face differently. The Operator is not Slenderman, but they share a lot of features, maybe MH decided to finally incorporate face shifting? So while, we, the viewers saw only basic facial features (because we saw it by proxy of youtube and because of distortion), Tim could have seen the full face. Imagine how it would feel for him to see, say, Brian or his mother.

I'm expecting us to get a closer look soon, but has there been any discussion of what was on those sheets they came away with? I can't screencap, but here's what I noticed. These are not in the order seen.

-Individual sheets with names crossed out. Names I saw were:
-Jay. A few trees
-Tim. Trees and a very small house drawn on it.
-Brian. "Sees me" written on it.
-Sarah. A few trees on the sheet.
-We get a very brief glimpse of a separate sheet with a few names crossed out, almost like a sort of "master list". Cannot make out any names myself on this because it isn't fully uncovered in the shot, but we can assume these are at least some of the same names.

-"DREAD COMES" sheet. O is operator symbol, there's a tree, some things crossed out.

-Happy face with operator symbols for eyes. "CAN'T SEE" written on this sheet

-Sheet with "STAY INSIDE", with a picture of (I think) TO looking in a window.

-Sheet with just a big tree and operator symbol.

-Sheet with a large drawing of TO. Head is extremely large, almost bigger than body.

Slenderman has a blank head sometimes, but in some cases he's got a skeleton-like face with cheekbones and hollows where the eyes should be, but of course no eyes, no mouth andno nose. This is TO, and he might be different, but I think that the "face" on TO didn't mean anything.

really wish people would read the thread before posting about theory's :/ We've been discussing the faces, and already found out who they are and where they came from. Look back a few pages

And i wanted to make the joke about the front door being shut, but I thought that would be considered a direct call out so I didn't lol[/img]

Yes, I know that it is a usual thing in slendervlogs and there was one case (Timmy's last picture) with him looking like a skeleton, but I see prominent eyes, nose, mouth this time. It is unnerving. Almost like he gets stronger.

I don't think Jay was hallucinating. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but you can plainly see TO standing right where Jay said he was just a few moments later. Also, it's questionable whether or not Tim actually ever had actual hallucinations as it's been implied the "hallucinations" may have been TO. Maybe Jay is able to sense his presence in advance now, or perhaps there was some time distortion that only affected Jay and he saw TO where he was in the future? I don't know.

Yes, this is pretty much what I've said, but you explained it better than me x)

This and Lytrigian's screencaps.

I was also thinking this could count for people finding discrepancies in the shot of the field through the window. The latter shot being lighter due to the sun being in a different place. Also, the camera was in a slightly different place, but that's established already.

I have to go back and watch the first time-warp entry but my vague recollection is that the shifting isn't instantaneous there either... But now I've said it I'm sure to be proven wrong.

Well, my general impression of the total plot, even after this video is as follows:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Operator is the Ark. Ok now that that is out of the way, TTA wants Alex out of the way so he can take control of the operator. He needs Jay to lead him to Alex because if TTA gets too close the Operator shows up to stop him. Maybe he needs Jay to distract TO, or hopes that will work. TTA didn't count on Jay's overall ineptitude at the time, but is manipulating Jay and Masked Tim for his purposes. When Tim failed to kill Alex, he enlisted the help of the Hooded figure. TTA wants to kill Alex to usurp his power, not because he's "the bad guy."

This is gonna be bad.
