Also, the idea of "time" being the fourth dimension is not necessarily untrue. Quaternions, a four-dimensional function, have their fourth variable labeled as "time", though their discoverer William Rowe Hamilton admitted he did not have a better name for it.

Correct. The multidimensional nature of the universe does not include time as the fourth dimension. Time is a separate concept entirely from the spatial dimensions.

The whole concept of "time is the fourth dimension" came about because when that was originally stated, the scientists of the era did not have a better word for it to differentiate it from spatial dimensions. When we use "time" in this context, we are really discussing "spacetime," which is a continuum using three spatial dimensions and time as a fourth Euclidean axis.

However, this is getting a bit off-topic, as I don't believe that this is really the intended frame of reference for the Entries.

To respond to Serum's post, there's not really any wall-breaking going on. We're still well within the three metaphorical stage walls.

 time stamp

New to the board and sorry if anyone else has posted this but has anyone noticed that the only two entries that have the exact same running tjme are entries 65 and 72 which leave us with some revelations...i wonder if it means something.

I do think there's some kind of connection between the two, but I have no idea what it is. IIRC earlier some people mentioned that some of the faces flashed are from #65?

also remember the code that came with this entry begins with 65 and ends in 65 before all the zeroes.

That's certainly an interesting observation. Perhaps there is a specific video time where something interesting (and similar) happens in BOTH Entry #65 and Entry #72? Just a thought.

Entry #72

Hi, sorry if I sound like a noob, mostly because I'm a noob...
I'm a long time lurker/ viewer, first time commenter (plus I apologie if anyone has alread made this point). Has anyone else noticed that not to long after Jay think's he had seen The Operator, it show's up. Though an obvious point during the Entry, it makes me wonder if this is a "simular" psychosis to what Alex went through. Alex was able to seemingly warn Jay and Tim in the Tunnel. I know it sounds like speculation, but Jay also had a "vision" of someone watching him and Tim in the forest near the Red Tower. Maybe that was something that was about to happen as opposed to did. If Jay has been dragged through say Candleverse/4th demension, maybe thats a residual effect of sorts.
Of course another theory if The Operator was putting those images there mayber...Aas As I said I'm kinda new, anyone willing to pm me about some advice on Forum posting, it would be much appreciated.

That was a discussion earlier, though you're mixing up your vlogs. Candleverse is an Everyman deal. I like the idea of a foresight like ability that you gain from operator exposure. Would explain a few instances where characters other then Jay seemed to know where the operator was gonna be/not gonna be.

The problem is, if we say exposure causes foresight ability, we have to find the answer to why Tim doesn't have it as he has been stalked since childhood. What is special about Jay that he gained it before Tim?

Jay's not on psychoactive meds?

Tim's extremely accustomed to being told he's crazy and the things he's seeing aren't real, so even if he'd gotten the ability, he'd probably have tried really hard to shut it out. Also, pills. We know they stop him becoming Masky, but we have no idea what other effect they might have, incidental to that, since they're clearly suppressing something.

I guess I'd turn that around and say "what's happened to Tim that causes him not to be able to predict/anticipate T.O.'s appearances?"

And that would be that he's been on enough psychotropic/anti-psychotic medications to subdue several rampaging elephants, and that since he was a kid.

If, as Parietal has theorized, the medication gives Tim resistance to T.O.'s electrical/brain-scrambling effects, it stands to reason that the "distant early warning" capability would also be reduced.

When Tim was off his meds, being Masky and teaming up with Hoody to gang up on Alex, both he and Hoody seemed to know when T.O. had shown up before Alex did. So I think it's the meds.

Edit: Dammitz. Ninja'd by Mehetabel. How like a cat.

I went through #65 in pairs (90 = 1:30) and got nothing.

Re: Fourth wall
Technically we're characters in the series. Because Jay uploads the videos for us to see.

I'd say it's more like, he uploads videos for a (fictional) audience equivalent to us, the real world audience. We the audience have a fictional counterpart existing in his world, for whom the events of the series are real (though some of them probably doubt it as well). So in other words, the fourth wall is kinda weirdly one-way in this one- it's more of a filter than a concrete wall. Or something. I haven't had my coffee yet, even though it's noon. Excuse me.

But that's the nature of an ARG, no? Both creator and audience are participants in a shared fiction.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hate to bring this up again, but we have repeatedly established that Marble Hornets is not an ARG. It's a webseries with some ARG extras.

Well, it doesn't meet the "G" in ARG, but it has the same sort of medium is the point we're discussing right now- its fourth wall is only slightly sturdier than that of a full-blown ARG, and that's all we're talking about. We, the audience, exist to some degree in the series, and we can interact directly with Jay through Twitter, and the videos exist within the world of MH, etc. etc.
