It's easy for us to talk about TO, but on their end....not so much. They don't know much about our well dressed friend. The thing is terrifying. I wouldn't talk about it more than I had to either.

That may be part of their problem though (unless they talk about TO in private/off-camera). You can't figure out how to stop something unless you talk it out imo.

But what do they have to go on?

Tim mentions once, "the thing that follows him around" in regards to Alex. They know that every time they get within spitting difference of the thing they get mind raped.

Yeah I think they probably don't want to bring it up, just in case it calls it somehow. Also the trauma of coming in contact with the Op may be kind of stifling.

Something just occurred to me. In that early entry where Jay interviews Tim, he asks him if he ever saw a tall guy in a business suit-- Tim does get nervous and says 'no,' but what if the Operator looks a little different to everybody?

It can't, because the camera captures what we see of him, and Tim has watched the same footage as us and hasn't said anything about it.

But what if everyone who views the footage sees it differently?

Well, I see a purple rabbit in a suit. Serum, what do you see?

Wait, TO isn't a penguin wearing a Darth Vader helmet? Wow. I... wow. I always assumed you guys saw it too, so I never thought I needed to mention it.

I meant in-game, idiots. What if they're all seeing things differently in their heads, but when they discuss things with each other, it adds up because of some sort of bizarre trick the Operator is playing? Like, what if what we hear them saying to each other isn't what they're actually thinking their saying at all?

I like your theories Serum, and they're interesting, but you're over thinking it.

Thinking is based on perception.

To perceive is to distinguish.

I cannot perceive myself, the only people who know what I truly look like are those who are not me. A reflection in the mirror, while accurate, is not me, a photograph is accurate, but it is not me, a video capture of me is accurate, but it is not me. What most people fail to distinguish these days is the difference between the images on screen and the flesh.

And even then, I can see my arms, my legs, I can see most of the front of my body with my eyes, but what my eyes see are made up of light and reflection, which are then projected into my brain and perceived as I see them, so the way I see my own arms may not be the way another sees my arms.

Oh, come on, you aren't being fair with Serum.
Even if you share his opinion or not, you cannot deny it makes sense.
It is irrefutable that we never see the same than other person sees, but it doesn't mean that what we see is completely different...

I don't think it is the reason they do no talk about the Operator, but you don't need to act as if what Serum says makes no sense at all. Rolling Eyes
