CONTACT: Email from Jude Williams

In response to a sympathy card I sent to Jude Williams upon the deaths of his parents in the auto accident I received the following. I'm unsure if the "advantage" he speaks of for the "interview" process because I don't actually remember applying at Ideltech....lol

Quote:
Ms. Pillar,

The card was very thoughtful. Fortunately my work does take the edge of the greiving. All my parents ever wanted from me was for me to spend time with them, and unfortunately I kept putting it off. Marty, Marcus and I have been raising hell so long that we all feel like brothers, and my parents are like his parents, and visa versa. So we are all greiving. Heck, my whole hometown is greiving immensely. Stan, and Marsha were the type of people who seemed to adopt just about anything to make the world better. I saw you applied for the position earlier and for the thoughtful card I will tell you as a bit of an advantage of the interview process. The first part is a web-scavenger hunt. This was Marty's idea. He says we can't expect people to help a search bot find information if we have no clue how to help it. So he is working on 15 questions that the answers can be found online. The questions are VERY difficult and pretty random. One of them I tried for 4 hours to find the answer to and no luck, until I cheated and used TOBI for about 20 minutes and got the answer. But, Marty was right, TOBI may of never of got the answer, because the question was so abstract. Thanks again for the card, and good luck on the interview.

Jude Williams

Is that a contridiction?

Didn't the news on ideltech say TOBI was going to be kept away from networks for the time being? This letter says the contrary. This could be a PM mistake or Jude being reckless. I wonder if we will see reprocusions of his acts.

Excerpt from NEWS item:

When the project started, TOBI's web access was closed and the remarkable point is TOBI opened it. Unfortunately this discovery has led us to try to find a way to make sure TOBI asks permission before using
those services. For now TOBI will be shut down from any network, until a solution can be found.

In my opinion, I think they shut down TOBI's "willy nilly" access to the web until they could find a way that ensured he asked permission before accessing it (thereby letting them know what he was up to). That doesn't mean TOBI's creators can't use him for their own purposes when and where they want to. Like Jude said "I cheated and used TOBI"
That would have been under controlled conditions. They never said anything about not using TOBI at all, I think they just don't want him running higgedly piggedly all over the web, getting into mischief......or worse. Very Happy
