A bit cliche, but there's only so many ways this can go. And it will advance the plot.
So since Erin's still running around leaving random notes, why doesn't she just go home? What is she doing, living off squirrels while evading Slendy?

Well that was...disturbing.
So glad I didn't see this right before bed...

If you're not the series creator then you really should not try to answer for whatever perceived "cliche" answers. Just saying.

All I was doing is putting out my own thoughts on the idea of the cliche in the mythos as a whole, and in particularly this series. I wasn't aware I had to be the series creator to express an opinion about a certain element in a video.

You're right, you don't need to be the series creator to do that, I'm sorry for demanding any credentials for any aforementioned "Putting of personal thoughts into anything related to this mythos"
Any simple minded jack-off can post a random comment(Thought) on the internet without needing validation
Expressing our opinions here far exceeds any supposed need for realistic, intellectual debate...right???
But its your OPINION, so yeah keep using that as a defense when someone like me comes along and challenges your sense of right v.s. wrong as it applies to posting stupidshit on our interwebz

Well... this is a forum... Posting opinions is, literally, one of the only purposes for being on here. Furthermore the whole "finding a hidden storage device with a garbled message on it" is, by definition, cliche at this point. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it just means that it happens a lot. Personally, I think it was well done in the last video. The corrupted video was creepy but purposeful, it advanced the story, and left me wanting to know what was going to come next. It answered questions and raised new ones without being full of exposition.

afacelessking, back off the name calling please.
I've read through this exchange several times and I have yet to see anything that Ithilwen did wrong. I also can't make sense out of your objection... they can't post an opinion on a video because they aren't a creator? Or "the" creator in this case? Although it sometimes seems otherwise there are more non-creators than creators around here. Anyone as free to post any opinion they like, as long as they maintain civility.

I really want to like this series, but the video quality is totally killing this for me. Have to give the kids props, though.
Oh, and P.S. there were spectrograms in Log 3 and Log 4.
P.P.S. They're everywhere. Damn.

Jackie gives her thoughts on the Creepy!Video.
I wonder what she expects to find, though. It seems like Erin is somehow being kept lost in the woods on purpose, which indicates she won't find Erin unless Slendy wants her to...
@MC_Loki: I hadn't noticed the spectrograms before. And I get what you say about the video quality. It's a bit distracting at times.

If I had the extra money, I'd totally send them a Best Buy card to upgrade. It can definitely be argued that they rely heavily on cliches, but for what I would assume is a first effort by someone who I am also assuming is still in high school, they've got potential. It's also quite fresh seeing a female protagonist.
I've let my first impression sort of brew overnight, and I think at this point I'm invested in what they have to offer and I'll continue to follow.

Here's the spectrogram from the Log 4 video. I'm still playing around with this to try to get a better image out of it. There looks like there's some writing by the face, but unsure what it says.
