That does sound quite an interesting theory.

The whole palindrome thing intrigues me. Superficially there doesn't seem to be that much to them, but I guess if you apply the same theory to music (or even more complex things) then it could yield some interesting results...

The whole palindrome issue must be relevant, cuz every e-mail from them has a palindrome as the subject!!!

Anyone a sound expert? Wink

Is this the same sound file that is being sdiscussed here? The voices in the sound file... or is there something new. Also, I'm not sure I follow the "every e-mail from them has a palindrome as the subject" reference. Could you give an example?

Here is the music as an mp3 file. You should be able to find a whatnot on the internet to turn an MP3 into a wav file. Then, for those using MS you can play it backwards using 'Sound Recorder'. I've listened to it and I don't think there is anything new here. I'd suggest you have a listen yourself though.

I've been through a rapid learning process today, after finding a jpg of the job advert on a website that mentioned F:F:F, decoding it, chasing up the site, and then googling for syzygy, which brought me here.

I've now read all 14 pages, so I'm kinda up-to-date. To my shame, other than stumbling over Cloud thingy when it was all over, I'd never suspected this kind of game existed.

Worth mentioning that I invented this stuff, entirely independently, in 1999. Ice Bridge was what I called it. Couldn't get anyone interested. It stayed in the TO DO: heap. I am somewhat shell-shocked. (What's the emoticon for semi-ironic?)

Anyway, coincidentally, I run the F:F:F website for William Gibson's Pattern Recognition. That started off as a kind of puzzle, but no-one was playing, so I gave up and made it into a Sense-of-place site for the book.

I shall now hang about and try to contribute.

Wow, I like your site. Having just read Pattern Recognition (prompted by curiosity as it's one of the few things in the list I hadn't read/heard of) it's a great way of bringing it to reality, although as a frequent visitor to Camden in the past I had quite a lot of visuals in my head while reading the book...

Wonder if sales have spiked a little recently? Wink

I thought that Dan pretty much said there is no puzzle in the sound? Anyway, shouldn't this be discussed over in that other thread instead of adding more clutter to this one, which is already 14 pages long? Smile

he said the voices meant nothing in that thread, not that the actual soundfile in itself, it does sound like the palendromic music on the site i linked.

It seems a little slow in here, particularly, I suppose, because it's Easter, and most of us are otherwise occupied.

However, is there any clue as to what proj syzygy is promoting?

Direction?

Hi All,

I'm a Semi-Newbie (or rather a cloudmaker coming out of retirement), and stumbled across all this late in the day.

Have just read all 14 pages of this thread today, and am now trying to ascertain just where we are?

So umm... <ahem>

Where are we?

(and where should we be going? - are we still lacking direction?)
