I'd say it does look like spam especially that last line of random words. If it wasn't spam, I'd suspect lots of spam filters would mark it as such anyway so it wouldn't be a great idea for PMs to do that.

I see no connection to Syzygy even if this isn't spam. It could be to do with any ARG or none.

Indeed. Was the email on an account you have used once-only to sign up to syzygy? Without that I would throw it in the spambin without a further look; I get a ton of emails like that every day.
