Not seeing the troll half, though.

I guess just how dickish he can be at times and from what I've seen a lot of convos will usually go way off topic when he comes around. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not talking crap. I find it hilarious and when he is serious I typically agree with him.

P.S. If I messed up on the quotes again, I apologize. I'm still pretty new to commenting here and haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

That means a lot to me, thanks. I honestly don't mean to troll, but trollish activity does seem to be in my nature.

But I guess that's just because...

I know that feel, can't remember how many times I've been accused of being a troll.

Okay, just to clear up:
They did originally intend to end with their second season. However, when they planned that, Season 2 was likely going to be longer and the Seven Months Tapes would have taken less time than they did. They've made it clear that they were never going to end with the events of Entry 52- Season 3 was (at least initially) intended as a (very) extended version of the ending they had planned for the final entries of Season 2.

And I think everyone here sort of understood this, but I thought it would be good to make sure we're all on the same page.

And Serum ain't a troll. He's a one-of-a-kind weirdo prophet demon thing person something.

First, Serum is The Man. I usually find myself agreeing with him, and the rare time (note the singular) I disagreed with him, his complete lack of decorum and complete obliteration of the opposing viewpoint had me laughing so hard that I eventually DID agree with him. Of course, I have an alternate theory that the Cult of Tim has something to do with this, but more on that conspiracy later.

Second, you are the only other person I've ever met who even knew who Spose was. Anyone who uses the term 'swagger of a cripple' repeatedly needs more airtime. Kudos to you.

I like this, it's suddenly "The Serum Appreciation Thread."

It's like, even if someone disagrees, they're still somehow agreeing.

"Gentlemen! I see we are not all in agreement."
"I disagree!"

Seriously though, remaking early entries is the 9/11 of independent filmmaking. It's a bad idea and anyone who supports George Lucas putting Christian Haydensen's head on Sebastian Shaw's body at the end of Return of the Jedi (or anything else George Lucas has done in the last twenty years) is living their life the wrong way.

Now, I'm off to watch a better Mark Hamill movie called Corvette Summer. why is it a better movie than the rerelease of Return of the Jedi? Watch the scene where Mark Hamill hides himself in a barrel of oil to avoid being detected by some thug, and somehow stacks eighty pounds of boxes on top of the barrel he's hiding in and then emerges from the barrel, toppling over all the stacked boxes he inexplicably placed on top of the barrel while inside it and rises out of it looking like the tar zombie from Return of the Living Dead. It's hilarifying.

Serum, I found the greatest thing in the world back in 2006. It was a re-release of all three of the original trilogy. Each DVD included a bonus disk. Now, normally bonus discs include special features, but these bonus discs in these DVDs were special beyond special features. IT HAD ALL 3 ORIGINAL TRILOGY MOVIES IN THEIR ORIGINAL THEATRICAL RELEASE FORM!!!! No extra Jaba the hut shit. Han shot first! And there was not stupid fucking forced insert of that whiny little bitch that was supposed to be Vader in the prequels. The original trilogy, as millions saw it when it was originally released, before Lucas decided to take it out behind the shed and raep it. Seriously, it is the greatest thing in the world. >XD

Yes, those original theatrical releases were nice-- but only for 4:3 TVs. If you have a 16x9 shaped TV (which I think is everyone in the first world, now), the image appears as a teeny tiny box in the center of the screen. It's like Lucas is laughing at us. Seriously, though-- I'm telling ya: Corvette Summer, check it out.

Technically, they were transfers from the LaserDisc releases, not the theatrical releases. Each separate release of the films has had some minor change to it, even if it was as minor as audio remixing or ADR looping/alternate audio take.

We're now completely off-topic.

A.Duly noted, and that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification Smile
B.I am assuming your comment about Serum was directed at others and not myself and you just tagged it on as a separate subject and included it in this post.

On topic--I like the Season One entries exactly as they are.I wouldn't change anything. To ME,them not being high-def is part of the atmosphere and "charm" (for lack of a better word).
On a practical note--even if they wanted to do that there are logical reasons why they couldn't anyway because some of the most important locations are no longer at their disposal either literally or because of the hassle/problems surrounding filming in certain areas that they themselves have mentioned.

Edit to add:@Serum--I saw "Corvette Summer" at a double feature matinee when it was released, with "The Buddy Holly Story".Both great films,IMO even if you are kidding around or being facetious. Cool

I was actually appalled that no one called you out on this.

This must be why I don't frequent forums that aren't anonymous much these days. A guy like Serum can get away with saying pretty much anything, no matter how true or false the content of his messages are, just because he has a certain status on this particular board.

It is very clear the The Operator has changed in it's design over the last couple of years. Asserting that remaking the entries would be as catastrophic as 9/11 is tomfoolery at it's best. Again, I'm amazed that I'm the first to raise this point. In addition, okay, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to wipe clean the first 10 entries, however, that wasn't my original point. I stated that it would be neat if they re-shot the first couple of entries to conform to their quality today. And maybe, you know, released them on a DVD. Which really, would only be maybe 2 or 3 entries.

I really hope you're the jester, so to speak, of this board and you're just fooling around, because correlating the incidents of 9/11 to Trosephim possibly remaking a few entries when they had absolutely no money, is nothing short of being a fucking moron and would have been laughed at, were you not an "Unfictologist". I can't stand it when people on boards are given this priority, like anything they say is truthful. If a newcomer came in here and said this, he would have been flamed to death.

Voices like yours shouldn't be heard.

Dude, step off.

Seriously, go take a chill pill and lie down somewhere until you're feeling more civil. And then come back and engage in conversation and debate.

Whatever status Serum has on this board, it has to do with what he actually says and how he says it, not with his "title" (which, really, is only a measure of how much one runs one's freaking mouth {fingers, yes, literalists} -- and I should know, because my label belies my very short tenure here). I don't always agree with everything he says, but he says it well and with humor, so I don't have a problem with it.

And, to topic: no, I think it would be a bad idea to redo the early entries. I'm tempted to say that it would be the Hindenburg of filmmaking, but a) that joke has been told already, and b) I don't want you opining that I should be silenced, too.

On second thought: go for it. Come at me, bro.

Edited: because spelling fucking matters.

Your attitude here is far more laughable. In your first response to him you essentially pointed out that his opinion was invalid due to how long the user has been active compared to you, yet you claim some sort of user-earned status bias is unfair? That's really quite illogical.

Secondly, he's not actually saying that this suggestion would be equal to 9/11, he's using it as a superlative, that is, an exaggeration to convey that he thinks it would be a really bad thing to do. That kind of exaggeration is pretty common those days, it's safe to say he wasn't being serious. You may think the choice of superlative used was tasteless, or perhaps found it offensive, but it was not meant to be taken literally. It was a figure of speech.

I often disagree with Serum on things to do with MH, but I tend to move on and not post pointless argumentative rubbish every time I do so.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
kind of like I am doing now to you. Go figure. Also, it seems I was beaten to posting something like this as well.

[ADD] OT: I also think this would be a horrible idea. I like the creepiness of the first season, and don't think it would gain anything from being re-done. It's hard to say why I'm as against this idea as I am, maybe I just don't like the idea of changing something I'm a big fan of. It's not that I don't like progress, I'm all for that within the series, however going back and tampering with the earlier one seems kind of...I don't know, unnecessary. Wow this is incoherent. I guess I said it best when I said I don't know why I don't like the idea...
