It's hyperbole, he's not doing anything wrong by using it, and our acceptance of his use of it has nothing to do with his "status" here, it has to do with the fact that it's an acceptable way to get one's point across. Yes, we know him, but even if we didn't, Occam's razor would compel us to assume that he didn't genuinely equate the worst terrorist attack in US history (correct me if I'm wrong) to remaking the earlier entries of Marble Hornets, just as Occam's razor would compel us to assume that Jonathan Swift didn't really think we should eat babies and harvest their skin for clothing.

*cough* so yeah, that's why no one called him out on it.

EDIT: And for the record, I think remaking the earlier entries would basically be Troy and co. accosting their fans with baseball bats and stealing their identities. Figuratively, of course.

This must be why I don't frequent forums that aren't anonymous much these days. A guy like Serum can get away with saying pretty much anything, no matter how true or false the content of his messages are, just because he has a certain status on this particular board.

It is very clear the The Operator has changed in it's design over the last couple of years. Asserting that remaking the entries would be as catastrophic as 9/11 is tomfoolery at it's best. Again, I'm amazed that I'm the first to raise this point. In addition, okay, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to wipe clean the first 10 entries, however, that wasn't my original point. I stated that it would be neat if they re-shot the first couple of entries to conform to their quality today. And maybe, you know, released them on a DVD. Which really, would only be maybe 2 or 3 entries.

 		I think it would be cool if they redid the earlier entries, but only if it was a fun side thing just to see how they would do things differently. And it would have to be on a separate channel like troyhasacamera or whatever.

But I'm about 98% sure they would never do this.

 		Serum doesn't "get away" with anything. If you notice, it's the same few users posting weird crap all over every topic. I read his posts and facepalm a lot. I just don't say anything cause Zarg likes to immediately shut shit down if more than one person says something negative about someone.

 		If they were to redo the entries like they do now, there'd be a buttload more distortion and it'd make the entries look vastly different. There's no way the Operator would walk into that room without anything happening to the camera. Or I guess you could argue the Operator wouldn't really walk if it's gonna look like it does nowadays.

Also all the entries would be 8+ minutes

They never actually said that with season 2. They never imagined it'd go past S1. If the series was never intended to go past S2 then S3 wouldn't be as long as it is

As for redoing the entries hell no for multiple reasons

1. Any changes they make in terms of maybe Operator movement completely messed up what's canon and what isn't

2. The video quality is fine in reality. S1 was supposed to be just Jay documenting what happened and such, so why would there be super awesome quality it's not like he was really trying to make a webseries or anything

3. The actors/actresses look a lot different than they do now. If they redid the early ones, they'd have to redo ALL of them up to a certain point just to keep continuity with how the actors/actresses look.

Season 2 was meant to be the last season, but they realized they had too much material.

 		If any season should be redone in terms of the way it's filmed (Not the content/story) it should be season 3.

The fact that they got better cameras made MH seem too professional IMO. Equipment that you could tell wasn't perfect for quality added more atmosphere to it if you ask me.
