Has season three been the only season which has terrified yo

Hey everyone,

I love season one. I have a love/hate relationship with season two (as I said on another thread, there's just not enough reveal) - but does anyone feel that Marble Hornets really didn't get scary until season three?

I love season one. I love it's errieness, the, the...but few momments, really, at all terrified me. Slendy creeping in? Erriery, but not blood chilling. Masky? Pretty much the same. He's there, it's erriery, but it didn't set my heart racing (unlike Tim in real life. I like the pretty Smile) While The Operator returning to Alex after his attempt to escape from it was a huge dramitic moment, it didn't chill me to the bone like it did to others. I love, I love the errieness of Jay just disappearing in Entry #22 and Masky over his bed in Entry #18 and the Totheark entries were all sorts of lovely weird, but none of it really, at all terrified me. Season two had some great momments in it as well, as well as Jessica (I like Jessica and she would have been great for Jay if she'd stuck around in a strictly platonic way - she really seemed to handle being on her own a lot better then he did and managed to keep his had clear when shit when down in Entry #52 - but then it wouldn't have been as dramitically intresting as Jay teaming up with Tim, would it?)

Season three, on the otherhand, ever since, has been TERRIFYING. Seeing The Operator slowly emerge (tentacle? Leg?) in, seeing Tim escape from Alex and THE OPERATOR AGAIN (DKADJAOAOAKAJIJ), was all complete nightmare fuel and Jay following Hoody around the abandoned hospital had me at the edge of my seat and whatever Hoody did to Alex in Slowly had me heart racing like no one's bussiness and seeing Hoody in just. Totheark entries haven't just been lovely weird, they've been completly fucking terrifying

Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I the odd one out?

I'd agree with some of what you're saying. All seasons had their scary moments, though.

However, I disagree with your TTA statement. Many of the entries from Season 1 and 2 (Return, Admission, Intermission, etc.) are fucking creepy and for the first time viewer scary entries.

Entry 18 (the Masky encounter at Brian's house) is the only scary entry.

If you're here to be scared you may as well look elsewhere. I'm here for the story.

Season 2 was the scariest of the 3 imo

Season 3 had it's few moments of fear, but nothing really THAT scary, mainly because the operater started to feel like less of a threat after a while (until entry 65, that is)

Season 1 was the only season that scared me. I was desensitized to it for seasons 2 and 3.

This sort of discussion is better suited to the general discussion thread rather than a dedicated thread.

I think Season 1 was probably the most cryptic, especially the entry where Masky appears in Jay's room while he's asleep, I had to pause the video due to the intensity of that

I feel that the order for me was Season 1 > 2 > 3 from greatest to least scary. This is probably because I just watched the first season for the shock factor, then gradually became more engrossed in the story, but whatever. The third season has been more plot-heavy, so I don't really understand how you can see it as the scariest.

My notable list: 13, 14, 18, 19 22, 26, 33 (FLASHLIGHT OF DEATH + Dat hand), 37, 44, 46 (This one was arguably the best entry), 51, 72

I agree. That entry was the scariest. The most scared I ever get with any of the Slenderman youtube series is when I first start watching them and watch a lot in a row. I think all of these shows work best watching them in a single sitting or two, than waiting every month or two for a 4 minute video.

Season 1 was the creepiest, Season 2 has the best plot and Season 3 is the most intense. That's my way of putting it.

Also, Season 2 has the best totheark videos.

I agree, but I would add 6, 7, 52, 64 and 65 and take out 13 and 44.

Season 1 was definitely the most terrifying to me. Stuff that is creepy, weird, ominous, etc. has much more of an effect on me than jump scares and high intensity moments. Plus, S1 was the first I saw of Marble Hornets, so it was new and scary to me back then.

And another thing, the lower quality footage of S1 actually enhances the horror, at least to me. Like in Entry #1, it was a simple, short video, but it's so effective. And the head turn was the thing that really made it shine.

Then there's Entry #4 with the Operator doing that creepy run for a split second. Entry #7 with the Operator just watching in the background and Alex not saying anything and driving off. Entry #11 with the shadow going by at the end and the wind effect on the papers. Entry #18 with Masky sitting on the couch and then running at Jay (more of a jump scare, but it had the creepiness as well). Entry #24 with Jay teleporting through the doors of his house.

I honestly don't see how Season 3 could be more terrifying than that, but whatever floats your boat. I mean, there definitely are scary parts of S3, such as Entry #54 when the power goes out and Entry #60 with Jay in the tunnel. S3 is still a great season so far, though, don't get me wrong.
