To deal with this, I usually tell them to watch up to at least Entry #18. That usually gets them hooked.

That's so weird to me. When I first watched through Marble Hornets, it was the first few entries that I liked the best. I still like the Operator from the first part of season 1 (walking around instead of just standing) better than the operator from season 2 onward.

I think people underestimate how much can happen in an entry. With the length of entries this season, we could easily have more than an hour of content between now and #78. I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see a single entry longer than 20 minutes, even. I don't think it'll be possible to see the ending coming until we're an entry or two away from it.

If we don't see the operator move by the end I will be convinced they won't be able to do it for the movie either.

I really don't think the MH movie is ever going to come out, I'd put money down on it.

Not really sure where you're getting the MH movie won't happen. It's been confirmed and (I thought) production on it already started back in March.

As for how long, I agree with about 10-15, MAYBE as much as 20 more entries left and then maybe a Conclusion entry. Any less than that and they'll be cramming too many reveals and answers into too small of a space, and I think more than 20 left at the most and they'll be stretching it out too far (though they've already kinda done that anyways)

I know what they said. But many movies start production and cancel it in the process of making it. What I meant to say was I don't think it'll get a theatrical release. I just don't see there being enough hype around the series in the slightest.

I also don't see how if production started in march, why they're not getting the help of the cgi guys/film crew on their movie to help them get the operator to walk or whatever by now. It's in their best interest to finish the series strong if the movie is going to be made after it.

I say we start a betting pool. I'm gonna put my money down on 17 more entries, and less than 1 year, but greater than 9 months.

Although the movie may not be the absolute top at the box office, I think that if they devote enough marketing towards people who haven't heard of the mythos, it may get a healthy number of views. The people who made the Paranormal Activity movies are making this, and despite the fourth one sucking, tons of people still go to see their movies. On your point of questioning why the filmmakers haven't been helping make the MH series, you have to remember that these people aren't exactly neighbors. Trosephim are in Alabama, while the movie crew is in California. It would not make sense to fly everyone just to finish a series that doesn't have that many views to begin with. (Trosephim might not want help anyway.) Also, have you considered that they haven't made TO walk recently because he doesn't really need to in the shots he is in?

I don't know how much power they have over the film to begin with, but I somehow doubt they'd be able to just get access to the film crew for their own web series. The movie's budget is still just the movie's own separate budget.

And while I agree that there's a fair risk that this never actually happens, I do want to point out that movies can get hyped up plenty even if there's no hype for their source material or there is no source material at all. That's not going to just be about the web series' popularity, it's also going to be about their marketing in general. And sorry if I'm not entirely being clear right now, I'm kinda exhausted, but basically what MDHDZN said.

Also, I think that if they don't decide to rush to a crappy ending, then my estimate for the possibility of a satisfactory conclusion is about 85 entries total. So yeah.

So you're telling me that a film entitled Marble Hornets will be in the making, only for production to be halted halfway through the process of filming?

Seems all too familiar.

Well they finished shooting it at the end of May and it's currently in post-production, so if they didn't release it eventually they'd be making a certain loss. It's going to be released, the question is whether it'll be a theatrical one or straight-to-DVD.

I don't know where you got your facts from, but they couldn't be more wrong

I expect it to go on for another 6 months at least, unless they really speed it up.

I'm betting on about 10-12 more entries, or 6-8 if they're all over 10 minutes.

I'm betting the pace will pick up quite a bit toward the end, maybe an entry every week.
