btw, thanks Slyfox. I had looked at the article when I first got the email, but got caught up on how to count the dates and formulas and decided I must be wrong. Your spec made me look at it again. I got the solve by re-typing the Intoduction section into a word document and I let MS word guide me as to what counted as a word.

I responded to the mail with my solve, but as of yet I haven't gotten a reply. I hope it was the correct answer.

I double checked it too. It definitely seems to be the answer. Awaiting my reply as well.

hehe, don't worry I miscounted early on too and got a bunch of gibberish. Good job to both of you, slyfox (for the idea) and enaxor (for the solve)!

You know, wouldn't it be quicker and easier if the precrime boys (and girls) just posted the messages from the Precogs here on UF. Wink Or perhaps I'm missing the point Laughing

lost

I'm getting lost as well - are there jumps between puzzles that aren't posted here? For instance, what was the initial contact - the location of the precrime?

The beginning is here http://www.virtuquest.com/index.html click the 4.0 Link in the upper right hand corner. At the bottom of the Precrime message are some numbers.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
HINT: Think latitude and longitude
Send your results and you should then receive an email with a new small puzzle to solve. So far we have all followed the same steps to get to this point.

Edit* I just went to the above site and the numbers are now gone. I don't know what it means. Unless our last decoded message was a warning that things had changed. Mysteryjones, here are the numbers that were previously posted 46.4815|-71.1325.

New message from the precogs.

Subject : Precog Generated Evidence

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
SlyFox;

It appears that time is running out.

For those of you that have been preassigned a Precrime Department Number (PDN), you will be given official notice of the outcome at that time. Other Precrime Members that have not been given a PDN will not be officially notified.
Once again, the main Precog is communicating with the interface and has generated a sequence of characters. What it is ..is obvious, but where? That is another question. I trust you will find a way to get to it.

We live in a modern age of technological wonders and sights. To make this place good for all humandkind, we need Precrime, we need Precogs, we need you. Prevention is said to be the best medicine. I like to live by that saying. Once Precrime is a Worldwide practice, terrorism and murder,
can be eliminated from the planet. That is a place I want to live.

Please communicate results.

Precog Information to Follow:

Q.) Do I have a PDN and how would I know so? Confused

I think you have a PDN because you received the message. I never got a message, so I guess I don't get to actively play anymore. Crying or Very sad

We see you have entered a valid PreCrime
location. However you are not on our actual
agent list.

PreCrime has several openings in the division
if you are interested in taking the next step.

Please reply to this email if interested with
the subject heading of: uwjhwnrj

In the body of the message please reveal the
subject heading meaning, along with a secure
telephone communication number for contact.

Please be advised time is ticking.

Thank you

It was ROT-X, and thanks SpaceBass for the nifty ROT-X utility, got the answer and sent the response

Don't know if it is associated with the Virtuquest Game or not:
http://www.precrime.org/home.html Has a "join the team" section where you take tests to see what level of Precog ability you may have. after taking the tests you are assigned a position and a number ("use this number when communicating with agents") and a certificate.
