Lawnmower Racing Clinic to be held at Fire Station
by Melody Heller, Amboy Monthly

If you are interested in joining Amboy's favorite sport don't miss a clinic being held at the Fire Station on April 1st. The fever of lawn mower racing which has swept the Midwest and far away places like Great Britain has hit our community hard. Entries to the Territorial Days races have increased exponentially every year since the introduction of sport in 1998.

The clinic will be covering the basic rules governing the construction and modification of the mowers for racing. The fire department supports the sport every year by setting up the track, providing announcers, flaggers and emergency crews to man the race.

They are hoping to help newbies to the sport and prevent any serious accidents caused by poor construction and faulty design.

If you are interested in building (or buying) a mower to race this year don't miss this clinic.
