What I mean is that if he looks like someone, is natural for us to think that it may be that character. Even if I'm more in the "This figure was Alex" side, I'll try to think about reasons of any of them being there:

Alex:

- Waiting in the attick to ambush Tim and Jay in case they come back (which is half smart, half silly). It would be a great idea if he thought they were going to come back to that house (well if it's Tim's house). But, what if they just think it's silly to come back.

- Knowing there is no one in the house, using it as a place to hide something.

-Just hiding, but it would be ridiculous, if he was truly searching for Jay and Tim.

Things supporting those ideas?
Hoody being afraid of that person, and the static when the shoes are seen.

Jay:

-Tim has convinced him to visit Tim's doctor, who we know was in the same town, so they thought the attic whas good for hiding.

-Jay has a secret, or his split personality has. Maybe Jay is not with Tim anymore, or they have come back to Rosewood Town and when Tim is sleeping he goes in there... but that theory sounds pretty crazy.

Things supporting those ideas?

Jay really needing medical help.
Pretty much nothing else. Well, the figure looking kinda like Jay, when there was no need to show us the figure that much, so we can not guess ho is that person because of the looks.

For me the Alex thing makes more sense... but, who knows?

 		I think Jay's paranoia is coming into play, and he suspects Tim of something (lying, hiding things, being more guilty than he's let on, etc.), so he went back to Tim's house without telling him, to see what, if anything, he could find there. He didn't post it online because Tim obviously has access to the accounts. It just so happened to be at the same time that Hoody was there looking for pills. Totheark is big on getting the truth out and exposing lies, so they want Tim, and us, to know what's going on. Just a theory.

 		Why did Hoody record this entry anyway? And for that matter, why was it uploaded?

I'm thinking of an IG reason here, not "it was made so he could look more vulnerable", or "it's filler".

 		Digsby, what general consensus? Half way through the thread, everyone decided it was Jay in the window.

Furthermore, it is Jay. The neck line matches. The height matches(Alex is fucking taller than both Tim and Jay). The figure is also far more slender than Alex.

They aren't going to use a body double for Alex. For crying out loud, we know what he looks like. We know who he is. They use body doubles for Hoody because it's supposed to be a mystery who the fuck the guy is.

I agree with you in that. That's why. even my first thought was "Alex" when I saw the shoes, my mind just exploded when I saw the silhouette, because it was like: "Jay!!??"

The thing is that even if for us it makes in the plot "more sense to be Alex", we don't really know what's going on and he could be perfectly Jay, and the body shape screams out loud to be him. If it's truly Jay, I think the entry is creepier that I first thought.

The problem with that theory is (if you're assuming that Hoody and TTA are one), why would Hoody just look at the tape, flash LIAR on the screen, then put it back where he found it- and if he was/is trying to help Jay, why did he run away when he saw Jay coming? I mean, yeah, if it was Jay in the house, Hoody might not have known that and might have assumed that it was Alex or someone else (after all, he only saw a foot as Jay was coming down from the attic), but in that case, why did he leave the tape there? Why not take it with him and show it to us, or deliver it/leave it somewhere for Tim and Jay to find?

(Wait, did you mean Hoody/TTA trying to expose Jay's snooping to Tim...? That's an entirely different story there... after all, who's Hoody been calling a liar this whole time?)

 		Alex was in Rosswood town the last time we saw him. This video was shot in Rosswood town. Jay and Tim clearly aren't in Rosswood town (they didn't say they moved again since #72)

Do we really need any more reasons to say it's Alex?

Constantly filming yourself is not uncommon for this series. Alex and Jay have done it, and apparently so has Hoody.

There are multiple reasons for why this entry was uploaded.

- Hoody's health is deteriorating, and he is frustrated with Tim and Jay for barely accomplishing anything (hence "YOU ARE A FAILURE"). His control is slipping.
- Alex in Tim's house (assuming that was Alex).
- If the figure in the window was Jay, then his location has been revealed and this is Hoody forcing him into motion (Alex watches the entries and will make a go for Tim's house if he knew that Tim and Jay were there).
- There's a tape in there.

Unfiction isn't the only place I discuss Marble Hornets in. Most of the theories I've read say it was Alex, and I agree.

If the figure turned out to be Jay, it would be completely fine with me. I would have absolutely no problem with it. Jay or Alex, I don't care. But there is evidence for both theories, and I personally believe that it was Alex.

A lot of time has passed since these events. We have no word on Tim and Jay's current location, be it Tim's house or a random hotel. We also have no idea where Alex is, and we can only speculate that it was him in the house.

Tim and Jay say nothing about where they are or if they've moved because they need to reveal as little information about their location as possible. Alex is following the YouTube channel (and presumably the Twitter account).

I'm not saying I disagree with the "Alex was in the house" theory, but much can happen in the time between entries (it's possible Alex left Rosswood to look for Tim and Jay in College Town).

 		How do you guys have any idea what that guy's height was in relation to Jay's?
We only saw his legs, then we could only see his upper torso.

 		I admit I haven't watched enough to be able to tell the difference between Jay and Alex's silhouettes. I do have to say, as a newcomer one of the things I've been doing is going back and reading old threads on old entries. All this hubbub about silhouettes and which one belongs to who reminds me of the Entry #19 thread, and all the people who posted huge screenshots of Masky swearing up and down that they could see glasses under the mask, therefore Masky was Alex. Smile

I still say there are more reasons for this to be Alex that Jay, regardless of whether this is Tim's house or not. It could be Alex has gone into hiding because he can't track them down effectively, but thinks it's only a matter of time before they have to return to Rosswood Town. In Entry #69 Tim even said he felt like they were running away from something important there. Jay comments that they can always go back if they need to.

But, as always, I admit I could be totally wrong about all of this.

Even if they do go back, I don't think Jay would post something for a while due to his condition. Tim, on the other hand, has the ability but chooses not to because the youtube channel Marble Hornets is probably not his first concern

Thanks for reminding me. I'm positive that this line is foreshadowing to something that will happen in the near future.

What they were looking for was in their faces the entire time. Or something else that's equally cliche.

I think this is only true if you prefer speculation over IG evidence. If you prefer to speculate, then you would look at why it would be more likely for the plot to have it be Jay or Alex, regardless of whether Troy or Joseph played him. If you want IG evidence, then you try to determine if the character is Jay/Troy versus Alex/Joseph.

I have to say the latter is the better route to take in this case, as Jay has always been played by Troy and Alex by Joseph. The only character on the series who doesn't follow this one character to one actor rule is Hoody.

I met them at GMX Vol4 last year. Joseph is literally taller than Troy and Tim. That's how I know.
