Well... it would be tough to explain, for the reasons you point out, which would strike me as making it an unlikely set of circumstances.

Assuming no one has gone completely pants-on-hood insane... which isn't a given, really... one would have to assume that this wasn't a horrible idea to post.

So, if we assume that the person posting it had a modicum of rationality left, we would have to assume that the person posting it wanted information out. If we assume the poster was Hoody, then the most logical path would be that Hoody (whoever that is) wants Silhouette-y (whoever that is) to know that he (Hoody again) knows that he (back to Silhouette-y) has the tape (of something).

Agreed. This could be a lead towards the person NOT being Alex at the house, but Jay. (Since Alex would destroy the tape, whereas Jay could access it).

My only other thought... It didn't look like Hoody was looking for the tape specifically as much as he thought he was alone so he was poking around and looking for other hidey-holes for pills. It seemed more like a startled/confused reaction to finding it rather than either satisfied or angry. Mayhaps a tape he didn't know about?

Very true, I also don't believe that he was looking for a tape. Nevertheless, if it was indeed Alex in the house, he just caused it to get destroyed (or so one would think)

I actually prefer it that way, I love making up theories that fit around the known facts, and right now we've got at least two plausible ideas about that tape.

I just want to add the following: Regardless of where the tape came from, it is possible that Tim knows he doesn't want other people to know what's on it, even if he can't remember what is on it. Suppose he separated out a sinister tape in 2006, or immediately after recovery from the static hole, then forgot exactly what was on it. He'd be in an awkward situation where he knows there's something bad on there, but no idea what, and that's pretty cool!

D'oh, I just realised what this entry is all about! Hoody needs pills, and Alex knows this, so he took Hoody's pills. This leaves Hoody with no choice but to go to his supply- Tim. Alex is using Hoody to lead him to Jay and Tim, and Hoody is quickly running out of time! Why didn't I see this before?! Still no idea who came out of the attic though, or when entry #73 took place.

I'm leaning toward Alex in the attic even with Tim's car out front. The static alone suggests it. Why would we get Operator-interference with Tim or Jay? And if Tim was home, why weren't there more pills around? Hoody found only a handful, barely a single dose of what we've seen Tim take. He must routinely keep a larger supply around.

I'm starting to wonder if the presence of Tim's car wasn't inadvertent, it being maybe his real house so it happened to be parked there as a matter of course, and Troy didn't realize it was identifiably on the tape.

I would like this Entry alot better if we had either a reupload with text explaining it or a tweet to let us know what happened. To many unanswered questions. Have Tim/Jay checked the Youtube channel? Was that Tim's house? Was that Alex/Jay/Seth in the attic? Is Jay alright/alive.

When they found those tapes in Entry #69, it looked like more than two would play. Perhaps there was something on one of the tapes that Tim didn't want us to see... Actually I think it's more likely that this tape is one of the ones that Tim recorded back in 2006, and decided not to give to Jay in Entry #54. When Tim gave those tapes to Jay it always seemed that Tim was testing Jay. Why would Tim keep hold of the tapes if he had no way to play them and had no idea what was on them? I think it's more realistic that he pulled a Kralie and only gave Jay the tapes he wanted him to see, and I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that Tim had a videocamera which he can use to play the tapes all along. If Tim is going to withhold one of the static hole tapes from Jay then he'd need to watch them all before Jay did, which I don't find very likely.

If it's Tim's tape, wouldn't it be more likely that it's the other one from #72?

Are you talking about his chestcam footage? Because that doesn't record to a tape.

No, I'm talking about the tapes that Tim recorded in 2006. He gave to Jay in Entry #54, but it's possible he held on to one of them for unknown reasons.

I think the fact that there was a tape and there was Tim's car confirms that it was Jay at the window. Why would hoody post it if it was alexs. Then he could just hide it again. He's making Jay challenge Tim on why he has a secret tape. That will be the next entry
