That is what I did first too, Usually when Google translate doesn't translate stuff to English it means you have the wrong language. I did auto detect and it was all Norwegian as the language it picked. Not saying it isn't French since I don't speak that. I am saying that is my experience in Google translate.

Then when I Googled Rennes I expected it to be a place in Norway, but France seems right.

could be, but I suspect that since everything so far has been WWII related that we're most likely looking at something related to the bombing, either by the Germans, or the later Allied bombings

EDIT: @Aesculapius I don't doubt it, it's just that google translate does weird things sometimes, esp with auto-detect

You almost always have to read between the lines with Google translate. I know this. I'm just saying for it to correct your spelling to "flammes" would lead me to believe that fammes isn't the right word, which is why I tried auto detect and it gave me a language that it would translate to English. Its a moot point though since whatever the case, it is a French area.

So does this mean the next drop will be the Southampton one since the audio references South England to France?

9 Mar 1943, RENNES -- Allied bombers from the Army Air Force and the Royal Air Force attacked the city of Rennes[, France] yesterday in an attempt to disrupt the occupation of the area by German forces. More information on page A3.

RMS Galatia Attacked by U-BOAT

New York -- At approximately 1:17 this morning, the RMS Galatia, a civilian vessel that was en route to New York from England, was attacked by a currently undesignated German submarine. One-hundred-and-forty souls are confirmed lost, and two hundred remain missing.

The Galatia, operating under the Hart and Cornwell Steamship Company, was on her way back to New York with civilians on board following a New York to Southampton voyage that carried nearly 12,000 American troops.

Despite being escorted by two American warships, the German U-boat was in close enough proximity to launch an attack. In a statement released by President Roosevelt this morning, the U-boat escaped unharmed after the devastating attack. Due to the escort, the majority of souls on board survived the attack, as they were rescued from the water almost immediately. However, the nearly three-hundred-and-fifty who [are] confirmed dead or m[issing] were likely in the area tha[t was] damaged.

London -- As more details emerge after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki just one month ago, rumors are swirling that civilian vessels traveling from England to the United States during wartime were used to deliver supplies and other technologies.

Information gathered indicates that the RMS Galatia, a vessel operated by the Hart & Cornwell Steamship company, which was famously attacked by German submarines in July of 1943, was involved in over one-hundred and fifty trans-Atlantic crossings between 1941 and its sinking. It is believed that the vast majority of these crossings were not only used for civilian transport.

While the Manattan Project was not named specifically, it's clear that the top secret pro[gram]

Is it possible that things are emerging exactly 70 years after the disruptions? There's no specific date for the sinking of the RMS Galatia beyond July 1943 (~ 1:17am). The date on the newspaper seems intentionally obscured. Perhaps the first clues emerged on the anniversary of the Rennes bombing?

PS: this ARG looks promising. I hope it's not for f*****g chewing gum again.

ROFL. I met some great friends and even my girlfriend over chewing gum. Also got an awesome drop since I was still in the mainland at the time. My only problem with the the Human Preservation Project ARG is that it got left dead in the water.

 		Yeah, looks like they were able to confirm Eggz logged the keycode (which was early this morning).

I tagged my two posts pretty clearly on Tumblr, including making one directly in response to the post of the cipher text. I don't know if they don't know how to use Tumblr or just didn't check their own project's tags.

 		Hi all,

Have been lurking this for a few days, looks. Promising. First time I've managed to get in on something promising from the start since I played Tom Tooman years ago, so very excited!

Anyway, I'm based in Denmark, where one of the tacks on the map is, so might be of use Very Happy

Just a quick question: where did you find a name to go with the fragment? Totally lost on that, otherwise pretty much up to speed Very Happy

 		I decided to take it as though he is talking about a real lighthouse in the audio. http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/lighthouse/engs.htm seems to indicate the only lighhouse actually in Southampton (which the soldier was on his way to I think) is a light boat, but when I searched both Hampshire (where Southampton is apparently located) and Southampton lighthouse I got http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurst_Castle#Lighthouses. Not sure about the other Hampshire lighthouses. Also he is talking about invading France in 1943. D-Day didn't happen till 44 in our timeline, and Operation Constellation that was an English plan to occupy Allied Europe wasn't targeting France.

I don't think this train of thought of this maybe being a story clue is going anywhere, but I figured I'd share in case anyone else wants to play with it.

Edit: I'm sure others have noticed but I didn't see any weird stuff in the spectrogram of the audio.

Edit 2: Derp, or he may just be talking about the lighthouse that is Blackhollow in the other timeline.

 		This is a strange article but after you get 5 paragraphs in you know for a fact that this is for us. There is a metal box I believe to be the one viewed on our first page of this trailhead. I do not understand why it was hidden inside an article about a car.

 		I saw that article before. But also found a couple of other sites that use the same article. It almost looks like they are just using random text from internet pages to make the article larger for what ever reason.
