does anyone else think thats the mechanic is the one running the tumblr? i theorized about it when he first said "why dont you ask him directly" and now the comment about "must have a wonderful creator" makes me think its him.
also, can anyone make out what song is playing in the background of the new phone message? i dont think its the same as the platters album.

Well he did say the briefcase is his.
Quote:
That is my briefcase but it is not my briefcase as I am now. It is my briefcase as I was in 1943.
And it did have a letter from The Mechanic in it... so possibly.
As to the background song, I can't hear it clear enough to know. However I was thinking it could be the B side of the record that thebruce received.
The song on the B side is "No Matter What You Are" by The Planters

i dont think its that. the song in the background of the call is more up tempo. a lot of piano and it sounds like a deeper voice. but your right, its hard to hear over the operator.

Hopefully one of the more audio enclined members will be able to pick the song out.
Also checked the phone number again, same message.
So hopefully soon.

i have a feeling its not going to be at that phone number. i think if it was it would have changed by now. i mean he said today and its almost midnight, atleast for me. i dont know what time zone he is in.
i wish i could come up with a time travel related pun for that but...

We haven't had any other phone number thus far.
Still wonder if there may be something hidden in the "math" problem.

yeah i have no idea what im doing but i did notice when i listen to it carefully there is some kind of deep low growl type sound. i figured it might be a slowed down message. im working on trying to seperate it out and speed it up now.
EDIT: ok after some messing around im wondering if maybe the sounds im hearing are just background from the way enaxor recorded it. it could easily be a motorcycle riding by.
im going to do more work on figuring out what the song is.

No I heard the motorcycle when I first listened to the call Lobo.
BTW Graystone found a better copy for the phonetic alphabet. It's a page back Great job Graystone!

Everything you hear is from the phone call. I think the only sound from me is when she says "17 Queen" I moved the phone.

ok then maybe i will mess around with the "motorcycle" sounds some more.
EDIT: well as much as i play with it i cant get those sounds to sound like anything. i did listen to #22 a few times though and it really does sound like it starts with a "P". it sounds like "pout" but if we are following that alphabet then it cant be.

I do not think this goes in to the coding machine. I have left the numbers just in case.

If we use that list, the ? will have to be an H that's the only letter missing.

#22 could be H, since its the only letter left out.
I think its an alphabet substitution--there are 26 numbers with each letter represented once so if we saw:
AVVCI we'd use the substitution below to find:
A=A
V=P
V=P
C=L
I=E
numbers could work too of course.
Edit : Jinx with Tenshi!
