on topic: I'm not sure scans are needed (though I'll get some up tonight), since the contents are available on the tumblr.

also also, I'm starting to get tempted to put up a wiki... last time it got pre-empted by an in-game wiki (oceanus.wikibruce.com) Razz
At this point, this seems to be the one arg that has my most attention, and it seems to be pretty linear so far.
I, too, need to read up on all the past thread pages.

That little intro-summary blurb was a very very rough outline what I gleaned from a ~25min quick scan over the tumblr Smile (yes, I slept on the way to Toronto, so I read up while walking to GZ, heh)

But IF I do put up a wiki this time, is there anyone else willing to help keep it updated?

I'd be more then willing to help on a wiki if you set one up. I'm certainly not the best with them, but I have some clue what I'm doing at least. Smile

Also, on the subject of scans, was there anything on the USB from the box? The other two had an audio file on it so I assume the same would be true for this one.

I believer I hear something in the new audio too. Keep up the good work everyone. We are doing great!

As we have seem to have fallen into our own rolls for this one with our added individual strengths. I guess I am the historian and keeper of odd knowledge.

This week ATLANTA!

During World War 2 Atlanta was home to a few POW camps. http://www.ehow.com/info_8386491_georgia-wwii.html

Last week was a War Memorial so I'll add Atlanta's, specific to WWII. http://en.tracesofwar.com/article/22058/World-War-ll-Memorial-Atlanta.htm

Now for my unlisted odd fact pick of the week - Stone Mountain state park.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Mountain

On top of this large flat top mountain was built a small recreation town with a 165 foot wooden observation tower (light house connection?) in 1838, Destroyed by a storm and replaced by a much smaller tower in 1851 only again to be swept away by another storm with the rest of the town.

In 1916. The United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), was given 12 years to complete a sizable Civil War monument. abandoned in 1928. Work did not restart until 1964. The carving was considered complete on March 3, 1972.

This is another great historical day trip with lots to do and explore and end with a laser fireworks show on the side of the carved mountain at night.

On my last visit there I took the steam train ride around the mountain.
Here is a chance to do something few ever really get the instant pleasure of today. The train goes by frequently enough that you can place your penny or what ever loose change you have in your pocket right on the rail! Stand back and wait a minute or two for the fun and the train to go by.
After the train fully passes. Be careful picking up your newly train flattened penny right away as it will be hot.
TAKE THAT $3.51 FLATTEN MY PENNY DISNEY!

I've been lightly lurking on this one, and really enjoying the "traditional" ARG elements of it.

The music playing in the background is Paul Whiteman's Orchestra - Doo Wacka Doo 1924 ( Link to video for comparison and atmosphere.)

Has the fragment # for Toronto been revealed... the one to submit to the wireless transmitter?

*raises a hand to contribute to the wiki

I entered it. Are we to share that string? Feels like a one-use unique password/id; have the others been made public? Does it matter?

new Mechanic answer

This question was recently answered by the Mechanic....

heathian asked: In the recently found ship painting, the lighthouse painting, and the Rennes painting the sky appears full of cloud or smoke. It appears to be more than a coincidence. Can you explain what the artist might be communicating with this and is it related to the song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"?

Mechanic's answer: Interesting observation. I do not know, yet. What I do know, is that it seems this Artist was on the Galatia with our Operative and Mathematician.

The question I asked weeks ago "I'm in Atlanta, can I help?" was just answered 45 minutes ago with "Of course." So, as if there was any doubt, we're now confirmed.

Gonna pry at you again Bruce. Was there anything on the USB from the box? We usually get an 'after action report' on the site after a drop, but we haven't for this one yet.

I submitted the code on Saturday.
The USB does have two audio files: Mar 8 1943, and Mar 24 1943.

I've uploaded them with raw audio to youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PmFBA6-oGg

I'm in the process of setting up the wiki as well. (and scanning the box contents Razz )

ETA: Oops - video is now public Smile

Thanks bruce Smile

Can't wait to get the wiki going, as part of me still thinks we're missing something. I mean in a way no, we're getting on the drops, but missing something in the story. Will be nice to have a place to go over everything. Smile
