I'll be in Seattle too and I'll be following this thread very closely, especially on the 27th Wink I'm very eager to find out what these quantum fragments are exactly!

Awesome! Hopefully what ever it is it doesn't need the m-209 or someone else can decipher, just realized I'm not going to be near my computer after 3pm EST on the 27th and my phone wouldn't be able to do the trick LOL.

Ok so yeah, I have no life ATM LOL

Went through the letters from thebruce's flickr and transcribed all the letters as some of them are harder to read. There is some very interesting information in some of them.

The Health Warning

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Attention all agents reporting to "The Mechanic."

CAUTION! Handle quantum fragments with care. Simply collect
the fragment, place it into the supplied PLST-CY7 polymer
bag, and seal thoroughly. DO NOT view, read, study, examine,
or interact with the contents of the fragment in any way.
Doing so may result in extreme disorientation, sudden panic,
and/or knowledge of a destroyed alternate history.

Please use caution.

The two letters short one first.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
December 15. 1942

Dear sir,

I must opologize for the lack of a personal
salutation. It's difficult to write when using
names is against protocol. I also would like to
wish you and your loved ones a very Merry
Christmas. It's hard to believe it is only ten days
away.

I am writing to you because we are looking
for an operative to be the man on the ground on a
special mission, one extremely important to the
security of the United States of America and as
always, extremely dangerous. While you are still
young, your work for the OSS in London has been
nothing short of extraordinary and I trust your
judgement. I know many of the men and women who
were working in Rennes just arrived home, but if
you have a recommendation. I'd be happy to hear it
and take it into consideration.

The success of the ARCHIMEDES MISSION is
going to heavily fall on the shoulders of one
person, despite being a corrdinated effort, as
usual. They will infiltrate the USSR and retrieve
a valuable asset, one that could change the
course of the war. Please let me know if there's
someone you believe could fill the role.

Very truly yours,
William J. Donovan

long one

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mr. President,

I can only hope you are having a day fantastic as my own. It is
an incredible day for science, and I am elated to share the
good news regarding the Blackhollow Project. This joint project
between our two nations has been splendid. The OSS has been
wonderfully cooperative and I believe they would say the same
about the SIS.

Frivolities aside, I have important news to deliver to you. We
have been running tests, and we have come to the conclusion
that the time device can successfully accomplish its purpose,
albeit with some important requisites. Those requirements,
after further analysis, are highly unlikely to interfere with
the sucessful use of the device.

More information will be delivered soon, and of course, when we
meet next month for tea.

The Mechanic

Handwritten short letter

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Remind all operatives:

If a "future you" is seen handling a fragment when you
arrive to retrieve it, run. Interaction with a "future you,"
while highly unlikely, as that is not how this device works,
at least in theory, may destroy the very fabric of reality.
That would be unwise.

On the other hand, the device is designed to destroy the very
fabric of reality. But a planned destruction of reality is
certainly more advisable.

Handwritten long letter

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What they don't understand is that the device does not simply turn back
the hands of time. No, that would be (?). The logical explination would
involve a.... the word is (?) one. -Ah! A Duality, perhaps?
(?) not be the best word to describe it but it shall do for the time.

Reality, according to the tests, is a duality. A real, and a perceived. Two and
one. Not reality A and reality B... more similar to reality A1 and
reality A2.

A mirror! Yes, that's a beter word. When I stand in front of the mirror
to comb my hair each morning, there is one. I am real. In the mirror is
one as well, just as dashing, but who is that? Is that me? No, again, an
absurd notion. But to Barnabus, the 5-year old beagle that looks up at
any face in the mirror, does it know the difference? I suspect not.

As much as I wish to ask him and hear a reply, it would be safe to
assume that his one and(?) percieved one as well as my reflection, the difference
between reality and reflection lost to his orange-sized brain. Luckily, I
myself am able to tell the difference. But if we were no longer talking
about mirrors, and instead talking about reality itself or things on a
universal scale, I must admit, I don't Know if I would.

The truth of the matter is that all of the test can't quite predict what
would truly happen if one was to use the device, but we have our
experiments and our hypotheses and our conclusions to make our
assumptions.

But in science, do you know what happens when you assume?
You're wrong

So to prevent a time-related calamity, I have developed the QFDA(?) to
locate points on the Earth similar to BLackhollow Point and detect any
fragments carring over. This is neccesary for a few reasons fore most
importantly, if the years pass and the device is used in the far future and
this reflection is erased, would we know? Could a future version of myself
have the device? Perhaps. It's best to not know of these things, but the device
would not fulfill it's purpose if the fragments were ignored.

Not really sure what to do with L / B X D C L B / L

Nor where that "First is the double letter (normally at the beginning)" is supposed to be.

This also didnt help me:
The internal message indicator ended up being

Unfortunately the screen shot wouldn't help. But I'll do my best to explain better.

Ok so when you look at the key indicator it tells you two things.
1) the numbers after the line numbers (ie: 1-4) Tells you where to put the lugs on the metal lines under the lid. BTW You need to click down on the side where the 1 is to get each of the 24 lines

2 the letters (ie: A A A - - A - ) give you the active non active for each line of the wheels on the bottom.

Once these are set the wheels to BXDCLB

Make sure the flipper is set to C not D.

Then type L 12 times. But do so slowly you should get this.

This will give you the Internal Message Indicator to decode with.

Then you set the wheels to FHPNSH and decode the message.

Hope that helps.
Edited to make more space and fix the instructions

Don't think any one has tried Lobo. Would be interesting to see if there was anything there.

well the file definitely sounds distorted with a huge echo and such. did anyone try playing the physical record that came with the package? maybe look for hidden tracks?

i put the MP3 through an analyzer and got this.

im not really sure what to do with it from there. i dont see anything that leaps out at me.

Hopefully we get the drop day clue soon. That way we can make sure who ever is going to get the drop has the information. What with the con going on and everything, I would hate for the drop to get missed.

Actually I'm super curious what it's going to be. Part of me is expecting something mundane like a letter or something.

I assumed the fragments could be anything that seems "out of time". i'm hoping there is atleast one that is an actual person.

Lobo: That would be awesome! Also a killer way to start.

"Hey who's that dude wandering around in 40's clothes?"
