I think Alex just wants Amy back and to be as far away from TO and masked men as possible.

In that sense, he's very much like Tim; he's struggling with his sanity and wants a normal life but can't as long as TO is around. Unlike Tim, however, Alex won't really reach out for help. Sure, he may have sent for Jay in season 2 but he wouldn't actually let Jay in on things. Instead of being honest he's trying to get just enough help to sweep things under the rug. Until he can own up to things like Tim he isn't going to get better.

So I place Alex as a victim who's going the road of a villain very, very badly.

Like TO is forcing Alex to "feed" it.

I've had an idea I have been mulling over and figured I'd post it here.

I'm fairly certain Alex never has gotten Slendersickness (I'm sure someone below will correct me if I'm wrong). He never coughs, he never falls over, and he never complains of headaches or memory loss (I think he is lying in Entry 22 in light of more recent entries).

I think Season 1 was him coming to grips with TO and finding ways to escape it. He sacrificed everyone and escaped, and would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that meddling Jay. Season 2 was him cleaning up loose ends after Jay posted Season 1. He planted the camera, sacrificing Amy, and then attempted to manuever Jay into helping him neutralize TTA. After that failed, he wants to kill Jay. In Season 3, he seems to be out to get everyone.

I'm not sure how much contact Jessica had with TO prior to the Hotel, but being in proximity to Masky/Alex when he's mad gave her a cough. It's reasonable Alex should be a walking seizure at this point.

Listen to his speech while he's holding Jay and Jess at gunpoint in #52 and it's clear that at least some part of him regrets it all. He says he should've burned the tapes. Then again, now that we have learned that Jay's receiving of the tapes went with some strange hitches (Alex knocking him out or something), it's unclear what part of it he *actually* regrets, I guess.

If you watch entries 35 to around 44 you see Alex's bullshit. I think hoody came into the picture to almost steer jay away from Alex and expose alex for who he really is. During these entries you see alex lie to Jessica during the phone call about finding Amy plus other lies. Then entry 51 we see him basically kill brian(why did he ask jay if he even knew what was on that tape?). We see he's become in league with the operator and is probally helping it find victims. Season three come along and the whole time he spends trying to find jay and Tim for whatever reason. Entry 72 Tim even says Alex edited and gave jay specific tapes to look like a victim and not the cause. The question is how is he the cause?

Anyone who thinks Alex can turn a new leaf watch TTA fragments. It says how Alex is broken and Cannot be fixed. I hate to say it but he has been corrupted by TO beyond repair. Jay and Tim have no choice but to deal with him. I can't wait for entry 75 to see what happens.

I think the ark is a place, and Alex was rounding up all the Marble Hornets crew and "taking" them there one by one. Like I said before, it seems like they're using "ark" in the Biblical sense, with all the water references and whatnot... It's hard to really say what/where the ark is because we're still missing a few key puzzle pieces.

I do think Alex is a victim. I don't think he exactly asked for a tall, faceless entity to start stalking him.
But while I do think he is a victim, he has also done some pretty messed up things. He's broken beyond repair at this point.
