I'm totally in. I've been waiting for this to start lol.

Partially out of boredom, I started drilling through the source code for http://www.areyouthe1701.com and noticed the fact that the "Are You The 1701" and two of the tags are oddly specific: http://puu.sh/1C3kY

That definitely looks like something.
1701 probably equals the number on the enterprise that represents the first (01) ship of a 17th federation cruiser design.

looks like i might keep an eye on this every now and then.

just throwing wild spec here that you can cross off right off the bat, but might give others ideas:

the odd resolutions of the white bg that is commented out in the source code (although the css makes the black background) draws attention and with the gif the resolutions are:

bg jpg - 20 x 800
1701 gif - 1841 � 556

800-556-1841? i called it and it says there number cannot be reached from my calling area. still curious odd resolution.

also, if you look at the gif image separately, there are black lines on certain sides of each letter. could be nothing, could be something.

I'm so exctited about this. I hope a good viral company is doing it.

As far as looking into source codes and all that jazz, I wouldn't rule anything out. Keeping an open mind helps.
