Chances are very high that a bunch of us won't be coming back after this beta. There is some serious griefing going on, and being told "this is a war game" juš annoys me personally. Some of the top players quit their alliances, and aren't sure if they will play again. I honestly didn't understand, and really I still don't, that a main feature of this game for some people was going to be attacking others. Frankly, that feels like a waste of time and energy.

Anyone going to join?

I think we need a strategy guide or something to max our efforts.

Since Maevrim spoke with us and addressed the griefing (which won't actually be addressed this beta either, but at least isn't being ignored), I'm going to play again. BUT I'm not there to join the oracle wars. An alliance gives you a map advantage, and I like that. I also like our rare spreadsheet.

As for maximize our efforts - you will see that my husband Yelsraek is high in the three non-fighting Leader Boards - if you ask him he *might* give you some tips (although if he does that then he wont be the winningest!)... But that really only helps as far as individual LB standings. There really isn't much you can do as an alliance in the LB unless you do the war thing. I think you will also find most of our alliance said over there that we aren't interested in that.

That isn't to say you can't do it if you join with us again, just don't be a jerk like Gregor/Bambam, and don't be surprised when we aren't fighting.

I'd say we did very well for ourselves without it.

I'll probably try again. May go for a different strategy. (Still anti-PvP, although I have to admit that Gregor's strategy of gaining knowledge solely through attacks is an efficient one. Don't need to spend Genium on anything but Cognitive Reactor and Secret Service -- and batteries, I suppose -- so you can maximize energy and forget everything else. Of course, this strategy doesn't require griefing... that's just Gregor's personal enjoyment. What else should you expect from a guy named for the Mountain-That-Rides, one of the most psychotically violent characters in Song of Ice and Fire?)

I enjoyed what little I got to see of the last session, I'd love to get in with this alliance on the ground floor this round. My UnFiction credentials: I did a media studies project on the Cloudmakers, and got to see the early preview of A.I. because of them. I uncovered a card from Last Call [spam-filter word]. I have a Shard from The Stone.

In the last hour i got attacked 4 times by the same person, and now i have 4 fragments that don't work. It is far too early in the game for that shit to start!!!

Genium Beta 2 over
Scores

We did not too bad overall.

Finishing table and finally... we had the best explorer

We just lacked the 'Astronomy' KU to complete the Oracle.

I'm out now, 2 betas is my limit. Best of luck on beta 3!!

That beta went really well! I'm quite pleased to have finished 2nd in knowledge and 1st in exploration, but from the outset my goal was to finish 1st in development, lol!

I was miles ahead when I discovered a population bug that caused me to get a less-than-optimal score. I would have had everything built in the 25th day!

Keep in mind, that bug still appears to be in beta 3.2. Based on the buildings I've seen thus far, it still looks like they are tailored to a max of 101,500, not 100,000. I believe the optimal available score will come your way if you leave one of your Commercial Districts at level 4.
