[Trailhead] Agro's Fortune
The Praxis Lands and a Dead Imaginary Horse?

Got a link to the YouTube channel of "Arthur D Sullivan" from thefortunetellerSPLATagrosfortune.org...the videos are largely entertaining ramblings on topics ranging from GMOs, meditation and Occupy Wall Street, with a base in eco-friendly topics...some of the videos are pretty old (with the oldest from Feb 2012) and there's mentions of aspects of this being in the works for 3 years.

Peppered throughout but then there's a mention that Agro (his imaginary horse?) is dead, and something called The Praxis Lands (which he vlogged about a whole year ago). A Sub-Zero action figure also goes traveling to all sorts of places to pose, which is pretty cool.

Has the feel of an artsy head trip or actual ramblings. Largely I'm confused, but since we're asked to use an Amazon referral link to by Frank Rose's "The Art of Immersion", feels like there's something to dig into.

...maybe.

EDITED TO ADD: worth noting that the level of abstraction here is hazy, so approach carefully. Arthur Sullivan seems to be planning out some sort of reality blurring project about Arthur's fictional character Gordon Saunders (?) and acknowledges the distinction between fiction and reality at times. It is possible (even likely) that Arthur is not a character, and that the blog/YouTube channel is akin to a combination production blog / outlet for storytelling...although I'm not seeing much evidence of that underlying story yet.

I do like the idea of composting books after reading them, at any rate.

"The Mammoth Book of Secret Codes and Cryptograms" and "The Art of Immersion"? Definitely feels like there's an ARG afoot!
Dune is a "stunning blend of adventure and mysticism, environmentalism and politics," much like what it sounds like his videos/tumblr are like.

On the Facebook page we also get the description that Agro's Fortune is "a parallel cultural narrative to PARTICIPATE in."
Under "The Mission" we get a hashtag code: #TheFortune

I live in a city hugely populated by old and new hippies alike, and they all sound like this Arthur D. Sullivan guy... Laughing

Yeah, there's definitely something here, I'd just suggest approaching the participation / interaction with kid gloves until the level of abstraction is sussed out.

...okay, and I'm officially even more confused. Agro's Fortune is apparently a brand of compost? Which would make sense, for the corpse of an imaginary dead horse... http://community1.maker.good.is/projects/thefortune

FINAL EDIT FOR THE NIGHT: Okay, current assumption is that the story is still very much in its formative stages, and this is at more of a "wait and see" stage currently. http://agrosfortune.tumblr.com/post/40761121777/agros-fortune-alernative-reality-game

That's weird. He seems to be very into the "permaculture" movement, but this is his real life personality who is. He was looking for people to join in on a spring/summer permaculture project on his Facebook account (actual account, not AgrosFortune account) so he seems like a real guy...

http://www.agrosfortune.org/ is weird.

EDIT: That's an interesting tumblr post... I can't even figure out what "One long term goal for Agro's Fortune is to create a decentralized permaculture corporation that may function a lot like some existing ARG's" is supposed to even mean though Razz

Got another email in the tipline saying "The Fortune is still telling. More is there to explore since last the forums were updated."

Take of it what you will.
