That still doesn't make sense, though. DID wouldn't trick you into thinking you hadn't broken your leg. If you're going to use that, it's more likely that they're physically different people. Time travel, anyone?
Maybe until #72 it was a younger Tim, and at some point he switched out with Masky, who is his older self.

Okay, more random thoughts.

1) What happened to Jay's car? When they first left town way back in Entry #67.5, they were each driving their own cars. In #72 they were both in Tim's car. Which makes sense, but back in Rosswood town they're STILL both in Tim's car. So, where is Jay's?

2) I don't think the mystery tape will contain Jessica's death. In one of TTA's videos (I'm sorry, I can't remember which one it was) there was a flash of her face with the words "she's out there" or something to that effect. Why would TTA say that unless he was lying, which would make him a dirty hypocrite. Unless something happened between that video and now... Shit, I think I just short-circuited my own argument.

3) On a lighter note, did anyone else laugh at the sight of Tim finally being on the receiving end of a tackle?

Jay probably just left his car at whatever Hotel they were staying at right then. They probably only take both cars when they're going a long distance like from one town to the other.

Theory that may have already been said
Tim and someone else, whom I will currently assume is hoody, were working together to indoctrinate Jay into their little club. The group would then advance on Alex and possibly try to finally 1: Find/Explain the Ark. 2: Solve the Operator issue.

Jay watching the tape too soon would cause him to think they were the bad guys, and Jay will turn against Tim and the others.

Sidenote: What if Amy was the one holding Alex? I thought it was strange the picture of Amy and the "ransom" note were right next to each other.
