I reckon replace Brian's voice with Haley Joel Osment in it and it'll sound way better.

Alex isn't in the movie Bro, Alex is the writer/director. Brian plays the lead, Sarah is his girlfriend and Tim is Brian's childhood friend. Seth and Jay weren't in the movie; they were cameraman and script supervisor, respectively. So you have Brian, Sarah and Tim to work with, but for bonus shitty movie points, give Seth, Jay and Alex shitty cameos as extras, because that's what IG Alex would have done for extras I bet.

Definitely utilize stuff from the trailer and the series.

Alex *is* in the movie, if you watch the trailer. He's like some sort of friend of Brian's. It's not clear how big the role, but he has the whole "4 balls on a cliff" speech. Jay was in the trailer, too, so you're dead-on about him being used as an extra.
Seth probably played the Horse Dude from the trailer.

Yeah, that's what threw me off. I remember now.

Ahh, my bad. I'm frankly unsure of the details of the trailer and was going by the evidence only from the Entries. Is the trailer properly canon? I mean obviously you can use anything for clues if you're making your own independent creative work, but I'm curious.

I dunno whether or not it can be considered canon (it's really irrelevant as Alex's movie's content has little to do with MH's plot, but I do view it as semi-canon). That said, this is an independent creative work based specifically on the trailer and the few parts we saw in MH itself, so canon isn't really relevant here.

I consider the trailer to be canon, considering that it's made by the same people and that there are no contradictions from the actual MH series.

....Canon as a representation of the film Alex was making? And since Alex did reference plans for a trailer in 54, one could consider it canon as in the trailer and all scenes contained within it were actually made at some point in 2006 IG.

I'm so confused as to why we're discussing whether or not something that was in the bonus features of the DVD is canon.....

It has been stated unequivocally by the series' creators that the movie trailer is not to be considered canonical to the events that we are following.
While it may seem unassociated to some of us, that does mean we cannot use anything in the trailer to justify a theory about a character.
