I really don't think jessica's stuff would still be in the safe after all this time. The hotel would obviously have rented her room to other people since then, and they would have obviously had to have emptied the safe for other customers' use.

I don't think "What was in Jessica's Safe?" was a important question.

First off, I think 52 showed us that there isn't even anything in her safe. Second, there's no way the sane items would still be in there, the hotel would've emptied it for a fresh rental literally years ago. Finally, I never had the slightest impression we were supposed to be worried/curious about that anyway.

Maybe we won't see what's in it but it wouldn't be because the rooms were rented to other people. Remember the only guests at the hotel were Jay and Jessica. It's no ordinary hotel.

I think that was more to show how odd it was that they had ajoining rooms than to imply that the hotel was some kind of eldritch location.

But it was fricking empty. For months. They were there for at least two months. There was something off about that place, even if nothing creepy enough to mark it as an Eldritch location. I don't know, it's been suggested that TO was there the whole time attacking Jessica each night (hence the noises), so maybe its influence somehow caused the weirdness there (though admittedly there's no known power of TO that could cause this.)

It's not confirmed that the hotel was inherently a weird place, but that's why I want them to revisit it- because I want them to take it from "seemingly ordinary but slightly weird and unsettling" to "okay this place is f***ed up".

the more i think about it, being an ARG really hurts the story of marble hornets. a lot. it removes a lot of the realism of the situation

like... they were in the hotel for what, two months? surely jessica would have called the cops to try to find her home instead of paying for a hotel for two months (which would cost thousands of dollars). also now we know it took tim and hoody two months to extract her from the hotel

i get it's a schedule based thing and they have to space out shootings... but pretending time gaps like that aren't important harms the story imo

Despite the Twitter account (which is just there to tease out future entries), I really don't think we're meant to take out of game time into consideration at all, except when it's been specifically refered to (as it was in entry #18.5). There's no way Tim would have waited this long to save Hoody and get some answers and prove to Jay that he's on his side or Jay and Tim would have waited so long to go back to Tim's house, etc.

But, yes, the whole Jessica staying in a hotel situation (particularly when from her POV, there was a very creepy guy hanging around filming everything) , yes, she couldn't remember where her house was, but that wouldn't stop her leaving and trying to find a police station, someone who could help her, etc.

OOG time is IG time though. If they take two weeks to shoot an entry, it generally takes 2 weeks before that event happens for Jay and he posts it. Case in point with the hotel: entry 33 is posted 2 months after 27, that's IG time as a result of OOG time.

Sure if you watch the whole thing as a movie it makes way more sense, but that's not how they're exposing us to the series.

It was just an ordinary hotel, actually. Reading too much in to bullshit factors doesnt make it a confounding mystery for the rest of us. A lot of hotels have conjoining rooms.

Also, Marble Hornets is not an ARG. Sorry, was that not blatantly fucking obvious to you Henry? Viewers have absolutely no impact on the plot at this point. That's not a game, that's a show. Derp da derp derp derr. I wish everyday that they would ban you simply for having that name. You are obviously a troll and suck at analytical discussion. I bet you get bullied all day at high school and come here to act like a big man behind the anonymity of your lame account name. I bet if you got banned you would throw a tantrum and cry. I hope you get banned.

Wow, great argument there. You sure showed him with those hot opinions.

Why? That dude is a fucking lame troll and should be banned. You shouldn't be allowed to name yourself the title of the series we're here to discuss, that's annoying and noobish. The hotel from season 2 seems to basically be a normal hotel. And I've been told myself by mods and very long time board users that Marble Hornets is not an ARG but rather a show. A mysterious, horrifying show, but a show. Trosephim has stated that the fans do not have any impact on the plot. Um, sorry? I guess?

He may have no tact or subtlety, but MH user usually has valid points. And most of the drama comes from people making overblown responses to him. You shouldn't let differing opinions upset you so much.

It's not a game, meaning viewers have no effect on the plot. However, Marble Hornets is still an alternate reality story, meaning we're supposed to believe its events are actually happening in real time.
