Dear participant,

It's official: as of now, TimeHunt is online. Enjoy the game!

We would like to thank all our beta testers for your generous
enthusiasm for the site during the beta period. We have been
following your progress with awe, and hope that you enjoy the
real thing even more.

Please also make use of the Chat options, the Captain's Log
and the Time Files (coming in the next few days - we're just
finishing it off), and join in our search for the life of
Poverus and the truth of his Universal Machine.

Best Wishes
The TimeHunt Team

New to this game

Hello everyone!

My mom showed me these forums after she has looked through them for the Push NV show.

I wanted to get into the whole type of gaming, and I found timehunt.

I am a bit clueless to how this all works, can anyone help?

Jennifer

Welcome, Jennifer! Someone else recently asked this very question and spurred quite a few responses which you can read starting here. TimeHunt is actually more of an online treasure hunt than what we would call an Alternate Reality Game, but it does look to have an intriguing storyline and some beautiful site design.

After you've had a chance to take a look at some of those resources listed in the link above, feel free to post any other TimeHunt questions you have to this forum, or any ARG questions to General META Discussion forum in the META category.

Welcome Jennifer!

I'm fairly new to this as well. I sort of fell into the old ARGN site when searching for some Push,NV stuff and it opened a whole new world for me. I had no idea any of these games existed. I love puzzles and just plain trying to figure things out and the people I've met here and at ARGN have been so insightful and helpful. Enjoy and post away...can never have too may ideas...lol.

TimeHunt is great fun and great frustration...lol

I'm not as knowledgable yet at figuring out what some of the puzzles mean or what they're asking...but I enjoy the "hunt"...lol

cemgate, I'm with you!

I found ARGN looking for Push stuff, and ambled over here when they shut down. I'm loving all of it, and I'm completely intrigued by the TimeHunt stuff, especially given that two of the contributors, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett are favorite authors of mine.

The puzzles are tough, and I haven't quite figured out what I'm supposed to be doing overall, but I'm loving it. My only issue is that I'm behind a rather wicked firewall at work, and don't have the Flash plugin that I need to see the web pages when I'm here, so I'm forced to wait until I get home to do anything on the site! Ah well, at least I can read the forums about TimeHunt and Push, and puzzle things out in my head until I leave Very Happy

Here's hoping we'll have more useful information to share with each other about TimeHunt, soon!

Pax,
Shadow

Start at the beginning - the pregame timewasters are no longer available. This has already run for 18 months and a small group of stalwarts survived the first stage. But you have to do everything they did to catch up - the game keeps track of you and you have to perform all the same solves, so no jumping ahead. Way hard. While the chat logs here were pretty reliable early on, the real action ended up getting chatted over in the forums at schatzsuche.com. Some of the players started a trail (don't have a link, you'll have to review the forums), but I have no idea if it is still current . . .
