I would change only one letter:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
solution begins with GZTB...
The alphabet is a simple sub with a 3-letter skip in mapping.
F -> K
G -> N
H -> Q
I -> T
J -> W
K -> Z
L -> C
M -> F
etc.

THX bigtime, MrToasty! Maybe it's just the one word , aconitic? Also, as a long-shot if it's relevant, here's the list of notables I've spotted thus far in that Mosaic jpeg:

Albert Camus
Martin Heidegger
Friedrich Nietzsche
Søren Kierkegaard
Mencius
ETA:
David Hume
Asanga
George Berkeley

Yes, believe so, especially in context with "citrics" with both referring to acids.

Currently trying to see if that mosaic image on Facebook is really some sort of substitution cipher. Part of me says yes, part no. I've counted at least 32 distinct images, which would mean a substitution would include more that A-Z or there would be some doubling up. Also, there are patterns like ABABA that happen a good amount. Hmm. Dunno

Base32 perhaps? But if so, we'd need to know exactly which face is which character (A-Z, 2-7). Perhaps they are, in some way linked to who the image is of? I know Maria, from one of the other Facebook images appears once (just once as far as I can see).

Also, I'd swear the section above the eye in the mosaic says more than just ASCEND. Sometimes I think there are two words transposed on top of one another. Can't seem to manipulate the image enough to get anything useful though.

Unusual ascii art in that email. Laughing Kinda looks like a chick hatching from an egg to "loose the bonds" which is that email's subject header.

Looking at it with white text on dark background gave me a little different perspective - almost appears to be a key going into a door lock (something like this:LINK).

*smacks forehead*

Silent Eye is a steganography decoder/encoder. Trying a few keyphrases around film/mpeg etc - no luck yet

Nice! And how is it I don't think I'd heard of that one yet? Confused

Also a thought, to which image is the 'last photo' referring?

It's the FB mossaic thing. Stegdetect confirms it's been stegg'ed, just need to find the right keyphrase.

Hopefully the default settings were used to encode.

Hello!

I've read through all the pages in this thread, and I'm definitely interested and looking forward to help in any way I can.

A twit was sent around an hour ago, it said "RAQ TIMES MAY BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE VIA EMAIL". It seems that we'll have to make an appointment before we can speak with whoever answered to 99990000, if I'm following this correctly.

A side question, is there something to be done with our ID's once we get them?

Apologies, I've not had a chance to do any more with the steg'ed image since my last post as I've been crazy busy, and it looks like that's not going to let up until next week some time either. For what it's worth, I didn't have much luck with film/movie related keywords, so I'm wondering if the word is related to one of the existing videos, and, I wonder if the first part of the clue MrToasty decrypted ("he's in the at five right now it's been almost fourteen hours" etc..) is a pointer to where we should be looking.

Props Merago! Your finding "silenteye" is such a perfect fit. Yet I keep reading that Secretbook is the only tool able to circumvent FB's steg- scrambling algorithm so am genuinely befuddled. Maybe someone can clarify for me? I don't use Google Chrome so haven't checked the Mosaic Jpeg using Secretbook And welcome to uF, nankaar.
