GCHQ sets a recruitment codecrack puzzle But you could also win a Nexus.
https://canyoufindit.co.uk/
Step 1 is:
Quote:
AWVLI QIQVT QOSQO ELGCV IIQWD LCUQE EOENN WWOAO
LTDNU QTGAW TSMDO QTLAO QSDCH PQQIQ DQQTQ OOTUD
BNIQH BHHTD UTEET FDUEA UMORE SQEQE MLTME TIREC
LICAI QATUN QRALT ENEIN RKG
I was playing with substitution but I'm not sure.

Given that "e" is the most common letter (in English anyway), one could assume a substition of e=q.
However, I doubt it's as simple as a substitution cypher.

Solved Solved Solved, I could spoil and give the answer that that would be no fun. A clue instead, the numbers 11 and 13 are important, think transposition.....

Stuck on 3 Stuck on 3 Second one wasn't too hard, the 3rd has me stuck though. I'm thinking mixed Caesar substitution but can't figure out the key. I'm sure I'll kick myself when I do. Any ideas?

I'm still stuck on the first, this seems like a fun thing to do - not serious on the GCHQ job, though... any clues for 1?

Stuck on 3 Stuck on 3 My clue for 1 above should be enough, for 3 I'm now thinking the fact there are 256 characters and the only letters are a to f makes me think its a combo of mixed Caesar and a grid. This is hurting my brain, I should be asleep.
On a side note, great to find random people on the other side of the world that do this stuff for fun. Really don't want that job

I also looked into the page source, the congratulations page mentions nothing about a job, just prizes.
Also, remember we're FINDING stuff, look at the webpage itself - in the background behind the letters there's the date 'Sat February 12 - 22:22:41' - Saturday Feb 12th was in 2011... anything significant?

Base64 is, well, "right", but the top and bottom lines are much more important.
Also, hint for number 3 - 128*8=1024 bits.
edit: For those that solved it - were there any fifth task for you? After solving the fourth one I got the next URL splashed right into my face, and there was really nothing to solve.

Nope, but the word for the last answer is right in front of your face.
I have to say, I am feeling rather proud of myself for solving that! I managed it with only one coffee aswell!

What's everyone talking about with URLs? I solved all of the words and entered them but just got taken to a congrats page. And, the first one is transposition ciphers for those of you who are still stuck on the first.
