[OT] Is there a thread to just talk off topic?

I assume this is a slender man related thread, as typical transmedia & ARGs are not "video series" - I'm going to move the thread there as that subforum area is toooootally different to the rest of the forums, and let ChildOfAtom do with it as he sees fit.

I didn't mean it to be slenderman related. I was thinking of a general off topic thread. I didn't want to post it here and I didn't feel like the Marble Hornets OT thread would be a good place to be posting about things other than what it is related to. Sorry my original post was kind of confusing and I am not sure if this belongs on the forums at all.

I was meaning this as to be a thread where people can talk about stories of things that happened while filming, stuff like that.

Delete this if need be, though.

Again, with the exception of SM & MH, "filming" is atypical. You are looking for an off topic thread for a specific (albeit large) group of subforum users.

I was wondering if anybody had some interesting things happen to them while filming for their series, or filming for anything as a matter of fact. Does anybody have any stories?

I have a pretty awesome story. About a year, maybe two years, ago, my brother, Josh, had told me about someone down in the city was holding auditions to act in a zombie film. It was obviously an amateur film, so it wasn't like we over anticipated anything, we all knew full well that it was just for fun, not really to make money. Anyways, Josh, a few of my family members, and I all went down to audition. We had nothing better to do over the summer. We all got the parts we auditioned for, haha so yeah it was pretty amateur xP

I don't want to include every single ridiculous detail about how horribly managed the "director" was and how much he lied about things (if you want to know about more, you can ask, I would be glad to give details haha), but I want to tell you all about the most memorable day we had filming. Keep in mind, this is a zombie film, we have "guns" (mostly co2 and airsoft prop guns).

So the director told us a week ahead of time that his dad was close friends with someone who worked at the bank downtown and that the bank was going to allow us to use the connected parking lot above their building to film. He told us he got all of the permits and that everything was taken care of, cool right?

A week later, we start filming at the bank parking lot. We also were going to film at the twin parking lot literally right across the street, maybe thirty feet away. For now we have to get the shots we need at the bank parking lot. We shoot a few zombie killing scenes, and what would have been the ending scene, so yes, we have "guns". Everything is going kind of smooth, and funny as hell this day, kind of unusual.

For some brain dead reason, the director wanted fight scenes in this zombie film, and I don't mean like get into a fight because we are desperate to survive and angry, I mean like mma fight scenes just for the sake of fight scenes. (I can elaborate more on this ridiculousness later xP) Thank god Josh and I were interested in MMA for the longest time, we even used to go to a dojo and learned a bit, so we were perfect candidates to think of a little more realistic fight scenes, so my Josh and I go down stairs to the level below and act out some stuff we wanted to do.

Josh is a bulky guy and doesn't really know how to hold back, so naturally, the fu***ng gorilla knees me in the head for reals, not holding much back either. I am a little woozy from it, so him and I grab a big jug of water from our car real quick, I think a big two gallon monster jug, then we head back up to the top floor, one floor above us.

As Josh and I were walking back toward the rest of the guys, who were messing around and laughing at the time, we hear, "Put the guns down!"

Jug in both of my hands, me walking all woozy from still being shaken up, I look up to see that across the street on the other parking lot roof, well kind of, the guy looked like he was floating on a damn Nimbus cloud, there is a SWAT member pointing an AR-15 at all of us, s**t.

I drop my water, as everyone else puts down the "guns", I throw my hands up. Behind Josh and I, two sneaky ass guys apprehend us, cuff us, and I get a knee to the back of my woozy ass head, well neck. I look over at Josh only to see him treated like I was, but it was a boot instead of a knee. There is a shotgun pointed at Josh and an AR-15 at me. I lift my head a bit to see everyone else getting similar treatment.

We are all in cuffs, about 8 SWAT members all get us up against the wall and begin laughing at us. They realize that we aren't a real threat at this point and that all of our "guns" are fake. So the "director" explains that we are just filming a zombie movie. At this point, the SWAT members are being cool about it, laughing and making fun of us. One guy says, "You could have just called and let us know that you were filming here."

We all stare at the "director", who claimed to have taken care of everything, with a stare of death. What a dunce. He could have gotten us all killed, not to mention, my cousin was there, he was only 16 at the time, was a damn minor! This "director" was an idiot.

So, we were uncuffed and laughed at some more, the SWAT members left. We all confronted the "director" and he admitted that he had never told us he got any permits and that his dad knew nobody at the bank, he lied because he DID tell us all this.

Thank god no one got shot and now it is kind of an inside joke between my family and friends.

We all thought though, "We could totally rob this bank if we just let the police know before hand that we were filming a movie" haha.

Okay, Figured out where to move this. You aren't going to get much traffic, and I'm sorry about that.... But I am pretty confident V&S is where this belongs.

I don't regret my last move to SM - because again, "film series" is pretty much exclusive to SM/MH fan fiction. BUT they are pretty picky that even your off topic posts be sort of on topic, and if i leave this there, you are gonna get your butt handed to you by the other users LOL

Thank you very much! Yeah I just didn't want it to cause any problems because it wasn't completely on topic, in the sense of being specifically about SM/MH/ARGs. I don't mind getting less traffic as long as it doesn't cause any trouble. Thanks again.
