IMO & spec, this first person message and the content sound to me like it could be TOBI taking on his own identity. The "goods" were the entries from the database that were lost. His "boss" would then be Marcus, who is understandly upset by the duplicate work that's been created for him. Like I said, just my opinion, but thought I'd throw it out there.
