Not to attack anybody, but I've never personally understood why stating something OOG and relevant to a topic (OOG life making delay in entry posting, for example) was seen as the worst thing ever while derailing topic after topic with Tim Sycophancy was seen as more acceptable.

I know people argue its immersion breaking, but if that's your criticism, then I have two points I must bring up.

Firstly, how weak is your immersion to the MH story that stating that Jay is really called Troy or that they are in fact all actors and film makers and they work hard to get entries out at the extent they do, is enough to completely and irrepairably destroy your story immersion?

Secondly, isn't it arguable that on a forum discussing a story that the consistent topic derailment in favor of people talking about one character with side burns more jarring?

Not having a go, just stating an observation.

The answer is that the majority of people who post regularly are (mentally, if not physically) fairly young and that is why you see all the "spongebob humor" and lame jokes.

This site's head staff wants things to appeal to the majority, not the rational, and so we have rules that don't make much sense like the one you just mentioned. Things will never change, no use trying to change them.


Unfortunately there are no other real big boards to discuss Marble Hornets.

Nobody considers posting OOG stuff to be heresy, there's just some people who like to read the forums and see us uncover the codes while not having their suspension of disbelief bothered. Most of them aren't even users, it's mostly lurkers who come here to see if we've solved anything. It's not a big deal.

I'm not even gonna comment on the Tim bullshit and neither should anyone else.
