On the geometric page, what were the angles A and B? I saw someone mentioned that it was a 30-60-90 triangle, which would put A=60 and B=30.

The second drawing looks conspicuously like a compass needle, so combining the two...

60N 30E are almost exactly the GPS coordinates for St. Petersburg, Russia (59.95N 30.3E).

No other combination of those numbers as coordinates result in anything promising (one is in the middle of nowhere in Iran, another is middle of nowhere in Argentina, the rest are in the middle of one ocean or another).

I would like to add my congratulations to those who have helped solve parts of the prologue so far.

My theory on the INDEX page that 4 of Diamonds njberry received is this:

The INDEX has no solution now, but instead abbreviates 12 common nouns (or possibly more significant, 12 proper nouns) that correlate to the 12 chapters of the 12 portals (and can be solved as info on each chapter is revealed).

Also, I have a theory that info on each chapter will be allowed to be revealed by the Servant beginning on the 12th of the next 12 months, and that the date that the evil may rise is Dec 13, 2014 (or 12-13-14, a date in sequence).
If correct, you can expect a year long ARG.

Any further thoughts, guys? I'm struggling to know where to go next.

We have the maths problem solutions confirmed but it's not clear what we should be doing with those answers. I imagine there must be significance to both the message ('If you wish to see close your eyes') and the fact that the right hand page was upside down.

Talking of the maths, could 28 and 12 form the date we're looking for (28/12/13)? I think that's unlikely though because, as arthurdent points out, if we're going to get updates on a new portal on the 12th of each month then we're looking at a long-term game.

I'm also unsure if we need to do anything more with the map page. It's been confirmed that ARUSE is correct but I don't see what else we can do with that or how it fits in with the message 'Start at the poles'. The only thought I've had is that 'north' and 'south' (as in the north and south pole) both fit, as well the answer we have - is there any connection there? I'm really stumped on that one.

Prologue was supposed to tell us the nature and time the portals were to open, i fail to see either of those other than the assumption "rises on a sequence". I also find it hard to believe this will be a year long, has anyone else thought that with next month being december we will have an entire month of the number 12?

Just thinking out loud here but there is literally one place on the world named ARUSE. If it was taken literally it might be something. Like I said just shooting in the dark here.

I converted the word ARUSE into numbers and put it into a well known coordinate finder. I can't find any solid ground I've tried switching poles and switching places, if this IS what we're supposed to do than I haven't found anything yet.

I like the idea of converting the letters to numbers, what a shame it doesn't look like a date.

Please remember we are looking for a date and the 'nature' of the portals, seems a pity to waste time looking for a place when that's not our current 'mission'!

Perhaps the portals are spirals, as suggested by the way to read one page? Or maybe they are cones, suggested by the circle/triangle maths page?
If they are cones, they could be mountains....

See that was me thinking out loud, I'm in danger of rambling now so I'll stop!

Not sure how it would fit into the "real" world but could the portals be dreams? It would be a way to "see" with your eyes closed.

Also, the circle & triangle diagram could be an eye, with the triangles being light coming in through the lens and focusing either on the retina or before it.
