[Trailhead?] QR Code leads to Number-Station-ish Soundfile

A friend sent me this QR code he found on reddit. He told me the guy who posted it claimed he found it accidentally.

The code contains binary data:

Code:
01101000 01110100 01110100 01110000 01110011 00111010 00101111 00101111 01100100 01101100 00101110 01100100 01110010 01101111 01110000 01100010 01101111 01111000 00101110 01100011 01101111 01101101 00101111 01110101 00101111 00110101 00110010 00110111 00111000 00110111 00111000 00110111 00110110 00101111 01010011 01110100 01100001 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110 00101110 01001101 01010000 00110011

translates to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/52787876/Station.MP3

This file sounds pretty much like a number station, but giving colours instead of numbers:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
blue, red, green, yellow, light-blue, blue, cyan, purplish-orange, daydream-blue

followed by some music.

I'm going to do a spectrogram of the file now and see if there is some more data in it.

The spectrogram doesn't look like there is any additional data in the file, but I'll try some other software on it.

Btw, Google Sound Search says the song at the end is:

Code:
El Jarabe Tapatio-The Mexican Hat Dance

Posssibly performed by Silvestre Vargas, but since there are many versions of this song I'm not 100% sure of that.

Ok, here is the spectro:

The most interesting thing is at the beginning of the music part:

Looks like the letters "F" and "L" are writen in there. Unfortunately I have no idea what this could mean.
Besides this there seems no further data.

Sounds like there is another voice in the background at purplish-orange

Nice catch, good job, and not much to go on from here. He starts saying something again at the very end of the recording, possibly an r, making me instinctively hear a silent"-ed".

Probably a loop.
Doesn't look like the /r/ has gotten much further.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Edit:
Hm does seem like daydream-blue exists in painting colours.

You're right, could be a b.

But what kind of a colour is purplish-orange? I can't even picture what that would look like, unless it isn't solid. Mix the two and you get brown, every day of the week,

Personally I have no clue where the mp3 is pointing us.
The only combination for daydream blue and pruplish-orange I can think of is a sunset then to add the other colours a rainbow (in Mexico) - or we might as well just take an acid trip.

Tbh, I have no idea... Sad

Imho the colours must have another meaning. I tried a lot to convert the colours in numbers or build words from the first letters etc, but no luck.

What concerns me is that almost no further information can be found online.
I even searched for missing parts in other ARGs because imho this could be a hint for another game instaed of a trailhead as well, but I couldn't find anything.

Hoping for someone to come up with a solution...

Seems like you've given this a lot of effort. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be getting anywhere unless we want to crack the dropbox user id which probably won't be that legal. Wink

Edit: I think I might have found our user.. https://twitter.com/icebrigade2895

From here http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1208410&page=116
Username for more info.. Also shows YT channel etc..

In conclusion: this is likely not an ARG.
