[META] immersive real world elements in videogame
inFamous second son

So, the PS4 game inFamous Second Son has a 6 week paper trail additional content that basically leads of the console and on to websites relating to characters in the game.

What do you guys think?Creating an immersive real world experience for a character in a video game is intriguing. In this game, you need to own the game, and have a PS4 account, it seems anyway, to access all the info. But I have found a couple of sites just by watching walkthroughs of the missions.

I'm curious about the whole idea and want to know the opinions of other players. From the YouTube video comments I'm reading, many, many people are lost, because they don't understand the simplest things like using a business card to find a website (or maybe they don't want to have to go to the internet for information, they just want to keep playing in the game world on the console. Not that I blame them, the game looks fantastic.)

I should add that this game is going to be massive. Although one complaint is the lack of side story and additional content, which this paper trail is supposed to help address, this game should sell millions of units and push people into buying the next gen console. There will be a PC release at some point some. One initial walkthrough had well over a million views in the first week it was up.

I feel there is a role here for more experienced people to help out and maybe work with the players. But I'm wondering what the ARGers think.
