Ignore. Looks like some reminiscencers of an old ARG.

So recently I have been followed by https://twitter.com/PrivateEyeJr.
This guy has been tweeting instagram photos along with some suspicious hashtags: DarknessCrabtree (seems to be a wrestler) 13Y19T5R9U13P (he keeps repeating this) and RIP (pretty self explanatory). He has also mentioned the SIU student recreation center. Don't know what that is.

The four instagram photos he has tweeted have been : one of a couple people in

outfits. You can see that here. There's a photo of an SIU sign here. There's some fog and a body here. And some darkness crabtree masks here.

There's a bit to go on but not all that much to go on. Anyone who can help me with info on DarknessCrabtree, 13Y19T5R9U13P and SIU would be very helpful. Thanks Very Happy

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Also, yes I haven't been here in a while I've been busy and lurking the 77 days thread. This looks kinda intresting so I decided I'd make a thread for it so more people get looking into this.

The more I look at it the more I think it's just a random twitter account spam following people from the unfiction forums and that I may have not looked at it in enough detail. We'll see.

Having looked into it it seems like some guys reminiscing some wrestler as the code translates to some wrestlers name. You live and learn, eh, guys?

Oh no, this is still going actually. It's for a wrestling promotion named CHIKARA Pro, who currently have a massive story going on right now, but I didn't know there was an ARG for it. Huh, nice.

Oh, CHIKARA. Yeah, there's been somewhat of an ARG for this giant time travel angle. There are some sites out there, as well as videos. CHIKARA mainstay, Icarus, has also held a couple of RL "rallies" and things like that. It's all incredibly inventive.

Anyone looking for some background on this crazy wrestling angle should check THIS out.[/url]

Also, the people dressed as "power rangers" linked above are The Colony. They are a three man tag team of...ants.

Also, also, the SIU recreation center refers to the rec center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I should know, because I attended school there!

It's still going on and there's no end in sight. It's pretty amazing. No other wrestling company has tried something like this. I personally have never participated in an ARG before, so it's a cool experience, although I feel a bit awkward doing it. I'm not entirely sure how to do it.

We received the clues for the Private Eye twitter/instagram at the last rally, but couldn't find the twitter and instagram until we got a clue via anon tumblr message. I found this board through searching Private Eye, Jr through Google. We just got message of another gathering through an eBay auction set up the the twitter.

The twitter is not following or interacting with anyone in the game, but 25 people they are seem random. They all seem to have an interest in ARG's and/or mysteries. I think there might be something there, but I just can't see the clue or connection yet - unless it was supposed to lead here for some reason.

Private Eye, Jr. and the CHIKARA ARG

The current part of the story began on June 2nd in Philadelphia, which is where CHIKARA is based out of. There has also been a rally on the steps of the Museum of Art by the Rocky Statue. There is another meet up on 11.2.13 @ 4:00 pm at the FDR skatepark that was revealed by a recent eBay auction.

This new ARG seems linked to the previous CHIKARA one called Mysterium Populous, and I believe that game (which was never solved) would have revealed Private Eye, Jr. as the mastermind sooner. He seems to be an ally in the #IAmCHIKARA cause.

This is the most recent video in the related "Ashes" web series. It is called "Garbage." The next installment is due out next week.

Mysterium Populus was interesting, in that it was an ARG/Contest that we... failed at on a grand scale. It wasn't really tough that I didn't win it myself, just that no one did. However, maybe that was the plan?

I have often wondered if MP was a test to see what we would do or how we would react.

There are so many puzzles and questions out there that I feel we are close to solving. I would love to work them out here. There's a lot of people here more experienced than us in ARG's and could help.

Huh, colour me impressed. I always wondered what you could base an ARG on and a wrestling promotion was not something I thought of.

This is actually really well done and interesting, despite not being a pro-wrestling fan its a really enjoyable plot.

It's really awesome Jono. At it's core, it's about taking back Chikara from the Conglomerate that mysteriously ended it - that's what the #IAmCHIKARA movement and hashtag are all about. We're fans who banded together under the leadership of Icarus (who is one of the wrestlers) as a sort of rebel force and we're building an army. This is our homebase - most of the information is here - http://chikara101.proboards.com/ But this game is now on Twitter, Tumblr, Vine, Youtube. We have yet to find anything on Facebook.

There are number of side stories that include time travel, comic book references (Watchmen is a big one,) music-inspired puzzles (like the Publius Enigma by Pink Floyd and the one NiN did a few years ago.)

13Y19T5R9U13P is MysteriumP - the Floyd-inspired Mysterium Populus puzzle that we tried and failed at. It's been taken down and MP (MysteriumP) had all but disappeared. Until last month, when Private Eye, Jr. appeared with his Instgram and ebay auction. The auction was for a comic. The winners received it and a the cardboard backing a date and time - 11/2/2013 at 4pm and coordinates. They lead to FDR park in Philadelphia.

We've had other rallies - one in Easton PA at one of Chikara's regular venues and another at the Art Museum. We don't know what this will be since the directions for this came from PE Jr, not Icarus, as the other ones did.

I've looked at the PE Instagram pictures. I want to try and destegg them and look for hidden clues. But I've never done it before. That's one reason I'm here - to find tips and tricks from other ARG players to help me with this one.

I think the most interesting thing about the entire ARG so far is how wrestling fans have been drawn to the concept. People who already loved the company are actively engaging in it, as are people who took notice when the story continued post-shutdown. It really shows the potential of storytelling and engaging the audience.

Like Babs, I am really interesting in the whole destegging thing. I've tried a few of the methods listed on this site and have searched for other freeware options with no luck. I don't know if it's that the downloads aren't compatible with newer versions of windows or if I'm just doing something wrong. Also, I was wondering about the success of destegging from an image uploaded to instagram or other hosting site. Since directions always say to use the original format of the image, is it possible that those sites alter them too much to be used?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

A quick amendment on something that just developed. Sinn "Kizarny" Bodhi has issued a threat via Facebook today against Wrestling is Art.

Previously, the GEKIDO group threatened Wrestling is Intense via Twitter, and then killed the company in Carbondale, IL. Just this past weekend, Dr. Cube made good on his YouTube threat and killed Wrestling is Awesome in Nashua, NH.

I knew I was right in bringing up his name before!

Looks like my original chronological order of shows theory was blown to bits, but my other theory (that we're going backwards in the line of Big Bads past) might be right, especially if the Bruderschaft are next to be heard from.

I think you're right. I'm almost certain Ares and Tursas will be the next to return and shut down a Wrestling Is.

We've seen almost all forms of social media (Facebook, Vine, Instagram, Twitter) as well as E-Bay used for this game, and Chikara is a company know for setting up fake websites for us to find (if anyone not in the know wants codes for karistchai.com let me know, it's genius), but does anyone on this forum have suggestions and strategies for finding our next breadcrumb? We'd love outside, experienced minds on this and would also enjoy opening new eyes to what this company is doing to reinvent modern storytelling.

Well I am not sure if one can hide stuff on instagram pics (some places screw with the pic during upload preventing it working correctly).

We actually have a tutorial and software for it on our site http://www.unfiction.com/dev/tutorial/steg.html

Hmm...next breadcrumb might be in that ashes series. I mean it seems to leave a hanging thread for a "Getting the band back together" set up. And the comics links interesting me.

If this is following the comic I am thinking of all the bits need to fall to be reunited so you could try helping the villains a little bit, by aiding the destruction of the 8 bits you could help them unify as one.
