I got bored with the forms and already quit this game once, but this special mission brought me back in. I've managed to crack all the other codes (there have been five at this point) expect the third one. I have no idea what code that is. If someone could post it under a spoiler tag here or send me a pm, that would be great and I could get a peace of mind Laughing

I think I can do this until the level 10 or maybe even 11, but after that I'm off to sleepyville.

Hint: consider something very similar to what you used for the first.

Apologies if I seemed like a total jerk - I set my alarm and got up early for it, hit snooze and missed the first one, and then was a little disappointed. I'll check back later today and see how things are going. Good luck agents!

blaujay, that was the first thing I tried, but for some reason it didn't work. However, now I got it, so thanks Smile

We (myself and mrshomersimpson) are having trouble with it too, We know it is not some kind of encryption and the message is "hidden in plain sight", we have tried taking out everything but numbers, uppercase letters and lowercase letters but nothing works, we also tried looking for any addresses but all we found that is vaguely similar to an address is RUE 6576, a very clever code.

Kira1000, where did you get the information that it is not encrypted and the message is "hidden in plain sight"?

Edit:
The only pattern I see is that there are multiple parts of the message with the format ###_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _###, with 11 characters between the hash symbols. One includes an underscore and one includes two hyphens, and the rest are mixed upper and lower case letters. The text inside the hashes doesn't mean anything to me though, and I feel like it's weird to see the caret (^) character in the rest of the message. That suggests XOR-ing, but that would be a kind of encryption.

Also, they may need to run another 24 hour infiltration ASAP - if I understand the screen log, they left their search script fuzzy.py behind...hopefully someone can cover their tracks?

Which key was everyone's favorite? #17 is kind of funny, if a puzzle can be funny. I wish I had been around for that one. Laughing I still think I can't handle processing any more forms, though.

I sent the text to the groundsman and got this response:
Great work! Does not look like an encryption algorithm to me. Maybe there is somehting hidden in plain sight?
Agent Candyman
that is how I know.

Hmm. With the keys, we had an advantage because we knew the format of what we were looking for (18 character string, 10 letter word in the middle). Do you have any idea what you're looking for here? A message written in sentences? A list of information like the previous Jean Baker message? Something to do with
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
organ harvest in the HOH?
As far as hiding in plain text, I thought about shifting the lines to line up the ### part vertically, but didn't see anything. If you can't think of anything else, maybe ask Agent Candyman if s/he has any ideas about the # pattern?

my 2 pence?

If they expected us to crack all those codes over a 24 hour period and then expected us to decrypt a wall of text like that then I just cant. My brain cant handle that much code...

I have been messing about with the text all day, skimming it down to just caps, just lowercase, just numbers then just symbols... not seeing anything specific jump out.

i don't even know how you managed to skim organ resources from that wall of text. OR was that a guess?

If you can explain how you did?

I legit don't want to have to crack anymore codes so im pretty much going to backseat drive the whole thing until the codes blow over.

I thought it would have been easy for a master code cracker bluejay Wink ( just messin with ya )

But yeah... dem codes... dem codes.

No, no, I don't know anything about what kind of message to expect, I was just listing possibilities and asking if anyone remembered a clue or had a guess. I was just saying the keys were "easy" (never going to live that down! Embarassed ) because we knew what we were looking for - so for example a key with 36 numbers that results in a 18 character string is probably using a two digit number to represent one number or letter, so when you think of where a two digit number often codes for a single number or letter, ASCII code tables come to mind. Likewise with the funny html key, there weren't 18 separate numbers in it, but if you squish all the numbers together in one long string, there are 36, so again two numbers are coding for one letter/number - ASCII again. But we don't have that advantage here. The suggestion that it is hiding in plain sight is almost harder. Brute-forcing different combinations when you don't know what you're looking for is tough because it could be almost anything. If you research the common old ways people historically hid messages "in plain sight" within text, there are things like using different fonts, encoding information in line lengths, reading vertically or diagonally in a block of text, or using a key, such as a number N and then you read every Nth word to get the message. I didn't see anything having taken a quick look, but maybe I'll have another chance tonight. Anyone else have any ideas?

The only other information I vaguely remember is during the key jamboree, when you "logged in" for the ones I did, they had a python program that was named after two animals or insects, like for example elephant_kangaroo.py. It seemed a little weird at the time, but unfortunately I didn't pay attention so I hope they were just making a little python joke and those weren't the keys for the final message!

I got that messages from the groundsman:

Quote:
All the intelligence I have received so far indicates that the information we require is in the main body of the text, somewhere. We, at Cr0n, are completely stumped by the text. perhaps you could help us out?

Quote:
Jean Baker was most certainly 'kept' at hoh247. We believe there is information in the text that pertains to her current whereabouts and fate. We have very little information about 247, we believe it is a interrogation and re-education centre, probably serving as a staging camp.

Maybe the whereabout includes coordinates? And regarding her fate i think i can extract "dead" from the dump anyhow Wink

We guessed the hoh things from the start of the dump. Another idea we had was some "hidden" page found at hoh247.mofp.net:3432 or something like that. But nuthin ...

I found that ###xxxxxxxxxx### pattern too but no result.

Another idea: mayb the dump is a jpg or something like that. But jpg didnt worked Sad Maybe its a sound file?

got this message on MOP

Quote:
Hi all,

I borrowed a camera from Quentin, one of the MOPAIN guys, and attached it to my dog Princess this weekend at the park and she went swimming with it. I have uploaded it to the MoP YouTube so you can all see it, I probably shouldn't use the MoP channel for this but Quentin said they use it to share videos all the time so why not! Anyway the video reference is: PACteDrsWL8

Hope you like it, I think its awesome!!!
