This is the best theory I have ever read. Short and sweet. Honest and neat.

Didnt Hoody take the gun in Entry 66? Wouldnt he have to have given that back to Alex?

Okay, I want to categorically state before writing my post that any comment that I am making is not intentionally inflammatory and any offense caused is purely accidental and I apologize if what I am about to say is offensive to anybody.

Marble Hornets is set in America, and as I understand it, it's pretty easy to just buy a gun (assuming Alex is 21). While cool that we could potentially follow the journey of this one item, I don't know if Trosephim are really intending for that on the grounds that Alex has solely possessed the gun from as early as Entry #52 (probably longer).

In addition, it has only ever been held by two/three other people: Masky (52, potentially when wrestling Alex for it, there's gotta be a reason that Alex didn't just shoot Masky when he finally made a break for it, so maybe he threw it in the woods?) Jessica (76, and she subsequently dropped it in favor for a flashlight and camera) and Hoody (67, When seeing TO, he probably knew there was no point keeping hold of it and just ran like hell).

I think they are just going with the idea that Alex has a gun, and not that the gun has any special plot significance except as something Alex owns.

Prodigally late:

I can't say anything that's already been said. But wow. That is my contribution.

Just an idea, could Jay have uploaded the recent Totheark video after he was taken by the Operator? "Am I the third?" could be evidence that this has happened twice before to different people.

Just a half baked theory but idk

Warning: Hazarding a redundant reply because I didn't read the entire thread.

Yeah, to Tim and Brian, but that adds more obscurity to the motives of ToTheArk (as if they weren't indistinguishable enough). This entry would imply that they're proxies to the Operator, but we've had contrary evidence going throughout the entire series because of Masky's and Hoody's behaviors. However, Tim insinuated that this was something of a long term facade, for I'm honestly not sure why. It wouldn't make much sense, but I'm guessing that nobody's sure what to think anymore. :I But now that I think of it, we didn't see Hoody at all before Tim found him after the Operator kidnapped Jay, so Tim's alleged accusation toward him for "setting this up" could indeed be false. On the other hand, you would think it wouldn't be you find an implication that Tim would know more about ToTheArk than anybody because of his supposed involvement, but THEN AGAIN, we have pretty set-in-stone reason to believe that he doesn't remember any of that, so who the heck even knows.

I'm just done. -.-

Also, I'm positive that the gun Alex has in #52 is a revolver, as opposed to the pistol that Hoody took off Alex in #67.

it's supposed to be the same gun

alex has a gun he uses in 52. jessica takes it off him but he takes it back. then hoody takes it from him. hoody still has that gun, alex would have had to buy a new one to use in 80

This. Hoody took the gun in Entry 67, and still had it by Entry 73, but that means nothing. It wouldn't be tough to get a gun in America, especially if you are unconcerned with things like laws, and are very clever. Both things would apply to Alex.

I would argue with the absurd allegation that its "easy" to get a gun in America, except that we're talking about white people in Alabama with (presumably) no felonies. So yeah, gun show, couple hundred bucks, gun.... But I still think its supposed to be the same gun.

Or you think you can.

Alex may not have the right answers to the questions on the paperwork, such as a permanent address. Jay certainly doesn't, and with Tim's mental health issues, it may be difficult for him as well. No way Hoody is buying a gun legally even dressed as a normal person. Alex is the most likely candidate, but do you seriously think someone with his demeanor (at this stage of the series) could walk in a place and buy a gun? You're delusional about gun rights, even in America, if you think this. Maybe online, MAYBE, but the best bet would be a gun show - even then I have to call into question what kind of source(s) of income these characters purportedly have access to. All around, unlikely - and more to the point, story wise it is likely meant to be the same gun. Until we see 2 guns at once I see no reason to think otherwise.

No I'm just in South Carolina. I don't know what state you live in but it's very easy to walk out of a store with a handgun.

Are you over 21? Because if you aren't then your assumptions are hearsay. After Columbine and all the subsequent shootings I find it hard to believe it is "very easy"... Especially for pseudo-homeless individuals with no references, no jobs, and a crazy look in their eye (i.e. the characters of MH).
