There's a seven day waiting period before you are allowed to purchase a handgun.
No such wait period exists in South Carolina. I checked Walmart seems I have to go to pawn shop or gun store instead.

Maybe that's the idea of Quadrant - Hoody lamenting that he fucked up and is now a liar because he assured Jay that Alex was captured, but he escaped and retrieved his gun. "I can not help" - I blew it trying to help, I suck. "Am I the third?" Liar, now that he drew Jay into a shitty situation with manipulation.

I think this is a really solid theory

I wanna know what they are going to do in Entry 81. I cant picture what Tim or Hoody or Alex are going to do.

You can go to a gun show and buy a gun without any waiting period.

And even with the waiting period it's not that hard to go buy a gun.

I agree he should have gotten the police involved early. If not with the footage of the Operator stalking Alex, then definitely with the footage of Masky stalking him. I just don't think it will help now. Like I said, there's no solid evidence of Alex being a killer, since Jay himself said that he couldn't find any obituaries or missing person reports for the guy in the tunnel. All there is is some fuzzy video footage. For all we know, Alex and possibly Jay himself have disappeared from records.

[snip]

Agreed, but in all honesty, I don't think playing it smart would have helped. The Operator probably would have come after him sooner or later. And that's assuming Jay even had a normal life at all, and his little film viewing didn't just snap him out of some trance. After all, he can't remember his life before this started.

At the very least, there is enough for the police to hold Alex for twenty-four hours. With him out of the way for a short period, Jay could have chanced breaking into the building to search it.

Kind of creepy to think about having your life wiped away like that, too. Willies have been given unto me.

Look, frankly Jay should have called the police the second he found footage of Alex being followed by someone. Sure the police might think it's fake but if Jay can't find Alex online or anything they'd at least look for him to see if it's fake or not. The whole "Oh yeah right kids a monster" thing is just in the movies; the police don't work that way.

Jay DEFINITELY should have called the police when he was attacked by a masked man. Honestly the idea that Jay and Tim are "Too cray cray" for the police to believe in unrealistic. I have no problem suspending disbelief in Marble Hornets, I don't care that Jay doesn't call the police. But don't try to rationalize it.

Well I guess I was specifically saying its too late to call the police NOW. He should have called the police in S1, definitely when attacked by a masked man in an abandoned building, but without a fucking doubt when his apartment burned down! More to the point, why the hell aren't the cops calling JAY when his apartment burned down?! Ever seen Fight Club? Your own place burns down and you disappear, you become the prime suspect... Presumably TO did the same thing with erasing Jay from memory as he did with Bruce. Actually presumably he could have done this to COUNTLESS victims of the fire at the hospital! I never considered this before - perhaps when in 65 Tim was saying, pointing at the doors, "IT CAME FROM THERE!", he meant more the fire that destroyed the place than TO himself.

Anyway, my point before was that at the point of Entry 79/80, it is simply too late to call the cops. The first question from the police upon watching the full channel up to that point, TTAs included, would be, "Why didn't you call us before?!" To which Jay would reply "abuh... Abuh.... Derp?" And they would think he was nuts. Worthless. I wouldn't either, it would be like a child explaining there is a monster in his closet.... But no, really.

While there's no Federal waiting period, a gun store must complete a background check before delivering the gun, but they can deliver it after 3 days even if the check isn't completed. So there MIGHT be a short wait regardless of state law.

I'd almost think even with the video "evidence" the police would still think it's a hoax and lock Jay up in the looney bin if he would have called. They would have chalked the events up to a *gasp* fake webseries.

False. It's obvious to anyone paying attention that all of this is actually happening in reality.
Troy, Joseph and Tim just all happen to look absolutely identical to Jay, Alex and Tim and are cashing in on these poor people's misfortunes.

But also Serum IS future Tim.

Actually, that creates even more questions. Plus, we still have the mystery of the Øperator, don't we?

Nah, the Operator is actually Hoody + Alex in a DBZ style fusion. The combined insanity mutates them into the eldritch monster we all know and fear.

I just thought of one thing Tim could do. He could set a trap for Hoody. After all, Tim has a supply of pills. Hoody needs pills. Badly. Hoody must come find Tim, in other words. That is Tim's one advantage right now.
