I think Jay's going to die, but he's not dead yet. Two reasons why: 1) Jay is a major character, therefore his unambiguous death will happen on-screen. 2) I just noticed a potential Chekhov's Gun: the penknife Jay picked up in #79. It's generally accepted that if the creators show something explicitly there's a reason for it. I'll site showing us the shoes of certain character a ridiculous number of times for no apparent reason, until we have to identify someone based on their shoes (like entry #80). They made a big show of Jay picking that thing up, and then he got shot and abducted, without it ever coming into play. Yet.

So, here's my idea: at some point Tim, Jay, and Hoody will be reunited. Alex will have been killed already, being beyond saving. It will be determined that in order to end this madness (or at least postpone it), someone has to be sacrificed. But it has to be a willing sacrifice; they can't just pick someone and pull the trigger. Jay, already wounded and fearing that he was going to become just like Alex, will, take the penknife from whatever pocket he has it in, and use it to spill his life's blood. This act will (insert any metaphor for stopping the situation you like here), and allow Hoody and Tim to escape to safety. Then we'll get one or two more entries that serve as a kind of epilogue.

If you start with the assumption that the totheark codes are never out right lies we can assume Jessica is alive. Which means at least one person given to TO is alive. No reason to believe Jay isn't alive too.

totheark said Jay was getting "deeper and deeper" to "where there is no light" (Showing a clip of where Tim found Bruce's body in 65). At this point totheark had already taken Alex and presumably began orchestrating the events of Entry #80. So it makes sense that totheark knew Jay was getting closer and closer to getting there. After all, when you consider that both Bruce and Jay were attacked by Alex and then taken by the Operator, it logically follows that they're in the same place.

Time works differently there, as is evident from Bruce's completely non decayed dead body. Which isn't much of a stretch when you consider what happened to time in the basement in 72; if Jay and Tim can only go through a few seconds of time while a whole day passes outside, why can't Bruce's body only go through not much decay while 2 years pass? Also, it seems to be night time there, even though Tim went there from the day and then went back to day time of the same day.

The place was also seemingly alluded to when Jay pointed out that what happened to Jessica looks like the same thing as what happened to Bruce.

Anyways, Jay could presumably survive his gunshot (People usually do actually) and escape that place. Even if when he escapes it's weeks later, this could be explained with time in that place being weird. Which could mean he's bleeding to death in suspended animation right now. Tim could also end up there and find Jay by that same logic, and potentially witness his death. Or of course more simply, Tim could find his dead body.

It's also plausible that Jay will never be seen again, with a gunshot wound from Alex and an Operator attack being enough for Trosephim. I could see that personally, although for now I'm hedging my bets. I'm not making any predictions about what happened/will happen to Jay except that he definitely got shot and that the Operator definitely took him to that place. I'm fairly sure that at this point we're just not supposed to know.

I think either Jay will find a camera there (Alex mentions Seth's camera disappeared along with him at the end up 22) and film himself inside, or Tim will end up there. It's also possible, although I believe unlikely, that we'll see more of it just from Hoody's perspective, but regardless all I'm really predicting we will see more of it. Of course that could be wrong too; we may never have a real resolution for Jay, and Tim may just resolve the issues of Hoody and Alex on his own, with that place basically being ignored. To be fair, the place itself is not exactly a huge plot point.

I see three possibilites for Jay:

- Dead in the Operator's realm.
- Dead somewhere else.
- In a hospital right now, recovering from his bullet wound.

The latter two could be explained by Jay being able to escape the Operator's realm and end up in Rosswood Park, in very much the same way that Tim did in Entry #65. From there, it's just a matter or whether or not he succumed to his wounds before making it to a hospital.

The last time I think we saw a legit public place was when Hoody was walking on the bridge and cars were driving past him, and before that when Jay was following Tim. I support the hospital jay theory because I want to see some civilian life that isn't abandoned/woods.

Though even if he is in a hospital, who's to say we'll ever see it, or know about it until much later? For all we know, if Jay is alive, he won't show up until the last minute (i.e. gunning down Alex right before he's about to kill Tim)

I have to say, the longer I thing about it, the more convinced I am that Jay is dead (which makes me sad; for all that that I bag on him for his dumb decisions, I want him to live). I may be reading into symbolism that isn't there, but I suspect the fact that it was a camera -Jay's camera- that was left behind, is meant to be proof that Jay is gone for good Sad.
