I enjoy things like this.... Will have a look into it and see what i can see, i think i might reserve some judgement and lurk a while as to avoid any ~~slendy related incidents~~ .... Razz

... unless someone can confirm its not.. then i might launch at it fully. Confused

I also am not great with tumblr so im not sure how to read the back stuff on there....

As far as I can tell, it's not Slenderman related. It actually reminds me of the movie See No Evil, considering the killer(?) in this video used a hook to murder and pull out the eyes of the woman, which is what the killer does in the movie. I almost think it might be for See No Evil 2, but it seems too homemade and it was an odd blog to post it on if it's for some viral marketing thing, plus some things don't add up so I'm not sure.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it. He apparently figured out the coordinates, and is going to the house soon.

OK so watched the videos and I didn't feel particularly scared or freaked out by the house.. dunno maybe you had to be there.

I don't like the direction it seems to be taking with the camera dying and going funny towards the end of the first video - but i didn't note anythin of interest other than him tripping over a ladder and crapping it which was quite amusing..... Twisted Evil

Second video with the dream I found slightly more interesting - with the red pond ( red always suggests blood to me) which is intersting perhaps serious stuff went down at said pond and he needs to find it!

I cant suggest this to him because i dont have tumblr so maybe someone could.

~~I kinda would love to see the pm take this to a twitter platform and or give us some way to contact him other than tumblr Its not a bad little vlog tho! i will still follow along.~~

Soo Someone messaged me with a little walkthru on how tumblr works - i got an account there and will post questions and stuff there should i happen to have any.

The second video makes me think it's purpose was foreshadowing something, I agree that he should try to find that pond. I'll try sending him a message to suggest looking into it.

I'm relatively new to all of this - followed a few ARGs years ago, but nothing major. So with that being said...how do we even know this IS an ARG, and not just someone's film project? He seems pretty insistent that this is NOT an ARG...is that an abnormal route for a PM to take?

Generally, if somebody claims to have found a video that apparently depicts a gruesome murder and not only decides to investigate it himself but also sets up an elaborate website to let people follow along, then yes, he's probably the PM.

It's also considered poor form for a PM to "pull back the curtain" on his own involvement. Unless they're getting involved in "meta" investigations (for example, posting on this forum), there are no restrictions on what they can do or who they can claim to be.

It seems really ARG-ish to me, and it isn't uncommon for people to deny that it is all just a story or all just an ARG, it helps with immersion and whatnot. One of the reasons I believe it's an ARG is that it seems like he really wants us to interact with him about it, a good example is his latest ask response.

"As of right now, I'm not planning on going back. And if I do, it would have to take some serious convincing�"

I feel like the whole 'it would have to take some serious convincing' part is a subtle way of telling the players to try and make him go back to the house. The only thing that is throwing me off is that the Octagon House's website looks like an actual website, and is an actual location with the same name and whatnot.

Yes, there's a reason the beginnings of ARGs are called "trailheads". If our protagonist/PM was gung-ho about searching a mystery murder house without any prompting from us, it would be (at best) non-interactive chaotic fiction. A key element of the ARG experience is the sensation of pushing forward into unexplored territory, which the character of the unenthusiastic hero being pushed into it by encouragement from his "friends" plays the part of.

I actually started to think that this is in fact a real thing and not an arg, but then I noticed something in the new set of photos. A ghost lady. I added some brightness and contrast so you can see her better.
