[Trailhead?] WhoIsTheBenefactor? I was first made aware of this on tumblr.
http://whoisthebenefactor.com/
It shows a gif of a keyboard with keys that light up in quick succession, then tasks the reader with entering these 16 'encryption passwords' in the correct order to unlock video retrieval data--I can't manage to get it yet, but I wonder if it'd be possible to chop the gif up frame-by-frame and see what each letter individually is and thus what order they go in?
It may be the only way to learn more about this 'Benefactor.

Probably is, good catch! The blog it was initially posted on showed a screenshot of the official Teen Wolf twitter, so yeah, it's probably linked to that.
I just emailed that addy with the uncovered message; let's see if they respond.

Beat me to it, RandomGuy. GIF Explode is useful for those.
Clicking the submit button with the wrong input gives this:

EDIT: The keyboard image is called "ak39.png".
I looked up "ak39" and it turns out there's a "Rugged Wearable Keyboard" called an AK-39 with a design that looks just like the image.

Directory location Hi everyone, this is my first experience of an alternate reality game and my first post on this forum. I took a look at the site and the address at the top of the page
Quote:
C:\> DIR .BENEFACTOR\xxI5\xxP63x0\Ax3
jumped at me it's obviously a "fill in the blanks" but i think once completed is another directory on the page itself. Just had to say it since nobody seems to be mentioning it. Also the creation times and names of the 2 files seem a bit suspicious; could the game end at 11 AM EST on September, or something?

Most of those words are the wrong length for those lines though. Doesn't work.
Edit: And ESPECIALLY not in that order.

Oops sorry those were red herrings from the teen wolf twitter page but passwords have been released somewhere and apparently most of the answers were hinted at by MTV's social media sites.
