CONTACT: WR (4/12/04) and SPEC: Krystal communicating? Right after SAVE ME appeared on the website, and then the site reverted, WR came online...I decided to start some interaction, since I've had none up until this point...
Quote:
loveandy WAR (4:57:36 PM): What do you need saving from?
CliffordWorly (4:57:44 PM): What?
loveandy WAR (4:57:49 PM): I'm sorry, I should introduce myself.
loveandy WAR (4:58:20 PM): My name is Andrew, I applied to Ideltech, but, because of an age issue, I'm guessing, i was rejected..Then I read some of your discourses on the corruption there, and I must say I'm thinking along the same lines as you.
CliffordWorly (4:58:47 PM): Good.. Glad to hear it.
CliffordWorly (4:59:02 PM): Are you in communication with any other people?
loveandy WAR (4:59:39 PM): I'm involved with the group that you have spoken with...Many a part of your Grendel group, which I haven't tried to join yet, but was about to.
CliffordWorly (5:00:00 PM): Please feel free.
CliffordWorly (5:00:12 PM): Now if you will excuse me, I have a situation I neeto clear up.
So a few things. Yes, I've taken the side of the Professor. At least for now. I don't know, Ideltech had me intrigued, but, I sense some sort of corruption there. Now, moving along. The SAVE ME thing on his site caught me off guard a bit...Could that be Krystal delivering a message to us? "I have a situation i need to clear up" gives me the impression he's trying to deal with what we just saw. He doesn't seem responsible for that message. I dunno, just some Spec.

More spec... I wouldn't be suprised if Krystal was behind the "SAVE ME!" message, but what about the I AM A WAR? I didn't note what time I saw the first "A" but from the 2nd "A" to the "SAVE ME!" message there was a 9 minute gap. I realize that the whole thing coulda been set up on a timer, but for Krystal to have the time to set the whole message up, one would think some more pertinent information could have been issued.
It makes more sense (to me) that the Professor was tying to give us a message (maybe something like: i am aware that i am a bit psycho ), got distracted for whatever reason & steps away from the computer. At this point Krystal somehow gets access to the computer, gives her "save me" message, Professor comes back and resets the website to the "sing my angel of music" and then goes and takes care of the "situation [he] needs to clear up".
Then again, I could be totally wrong.

I am specing that the Prof's version of TOBI might be a human/computer hybrid...Krystal being the human part. Maybe she/tobi2 is becoming aware and asking for help. It's creepy

I had a very brief chat with the Prof earlier.
Dashcat7: Hello Professor
CliffordWorly: Hello
Dashcat7: How are you feeling?
CliffordWorly: I'm doing well, but extremely busy.
Dashcat7: What are you working on?
CliffordWorly: A project.
Dashcat7: What is your puppy's name?
CliffordWorly: I haven't named it yet.
CliffordWorly: LOL
CliffordWorly: Perhaps ToBI.
CliffordWorly: I need to go.
CliffordWorly signed off at 1:59:55 PM.

Oh my, Dashcat, that's quite a clever theory.... So you think that Krystal was never a real person to begin with...she was just a character of sorts created by tobi?
I definitely think its worth looking in to....

Whoever was behind the message (be it Krystal, Drexel/William/Cliffard, or TOBI2), I am guessing it was put up a letter at a time to foil anything/anyone that may be monitoring. For instance, if TOBI is looking for particular keywords or strange messages at particular locations, a single letter might slip by. In this regard, TOBI (or whoever may be monitoring) does not seem to be any more smart than a spam filter that can't catch the term "V.!.A.6.R.A"

No Sterc I am speculating that the game character Krystal was kidnapped by the prof after arriving in Portland and her brain was used as part of his version of TOBI. You are right that I don't think Krystal was ever a "RL" person...I believe she was always in-game but not created by TOBI.

Krystal Here's a question and this seems to be as good a place as any for it.
How do people feel about Krystal and do we want to help her even though she misled us as to who she really was?
OK, that was two questions combined. My feeling is that as I was willing to assist in finding a completely fictional person--Jake Starkey -- in Acheron, I should be just as willing to help another fictional person --Krystal--in this game. So I am willing to help if I can.

I thought it was curious when I noticed that Krystal had Veteran status on the board after only 70 posts (not that that is unheard of).
As events unfolded, I couldn't help thinking that she was like that character, in every horror movie, who does something foolish to put themselves in harm's way. You know the one... when you think to yourself (or maybe scream it at the screen) "DON"T GO THERE!". And they end up being the first victim
Could this be the fate of our Krystal?
I, too, will do what I can to help her.

I don't think she really misled us. If we're trying to keep up the illusion of reality here, then to us, Krystal is still a real person. True, she was created by the PM's (possibly), but she's just as real so Marcus or the Prof..
just my 2 cents...

The "Veteran" status is board-wide and isn't different from anyone else's. I think Veteran comes at 60ish posts.
I do think that if she is BTS it is highly inappropriate for her to be a moderator for this forum.

I agree. But I do have to wonder... was she behind the scenes all along? Or did she really travel to meet the professor and was convinces to go BTS then?

Well, I kinda had her pegged as part of the game a while back...me friend dash can vouch for that. And if intuition serves me right.....she's not the only one. Just call it a hunch...but it is a game and it's all in fun.....and no i'm not BTS.

What I don't quite understand how it fits into the story is the page where her guide used to be.
"Due to Krystals disappearance the website is under new management. If your browser doesn't automatically load, click HERE."
Who's managing it? Who authorized the "takeover"? Whoever it is speaks like family or a player (knowing she has "disappeared"). If family, I think they have greater concerns than taking over her guide to an ARG, if a player....how would they get access to do that?
Or have I completely missed something?
And just an FYI, http://www.ruaware.org/ is down...

Also in the "Timeline" at http://www.freewebs.com/ruaware/ it says (near the end):
RAMiles posted that Fri Apr 09, 2004 9:35 pm his time
Krystal says in her "Meeting the Prof" conversation (Posted: Thursday ):
Quote:
[15:28] ok i found a flight
[15:29] leaves tomorrow and comes back early early saturday morning
[15:29] so i can hang otu at the airport until it leaves
[15:29] United Airlines Flight 877/523 departs 1:170p and arrives 4:08p
She was supposed to leave Friday early afternoon, and yet the Guide was updated to include RAMiles Friday late P.M. post?
So who's updating? Or have I completely gone off on a tangent that is explainable? I'm probably screwy on the times vs my time vs board tie...etc....
EDIT*** Okay, from what I can figure out, RAMiles time zone is the same as Krystal's. Which means that he posted his message at 9:35pm his time, and Krystal was due to leave at 1:17pm in the same time zone, and yet someone (the new management I guess) updated the guide sometime after 9:35pm.
Is this making any sense? lol
