Not only is your post unintelligible but from what I can gather you are also extremely buttmad as well. Are you and Tails in cahoots?

I have my right to say what I want, and others have already voiced their opinions as well. And it really seems like you have a deep interaction with the series, more than Tails, backing your own vids up isn't the way this should work, your vids should speak for themselves.

EDIT: Also, this is the place to discuss this. In fact this is the only place to discuss this, so I'll discuss it all I want till this trailhead gets locked.

Last time I checked, a forum was a place to discuss separate opinions. I can still only think that anyone who even remotely likes this is somehow related to the creation of this idiotic creation that doesn't even deserve to be called a remake of MH. Glad I got that out, now can someone please lock this thread before this gets any worse.

So, you make a poor quality copy of Marble Hornets, switch genders, add some non-important details and hope it would be considered a successful remake? It seems to me that you do not even know what is remake and what is a copy, because these "series" is clearly a vastly inferior copy of original work. It's like if some random people would watch Casablanca and then try to repeat everything they saw in their flat, only to call it a "remake". Of course, Marble Hornets can't be compared to Casablanca, but you got the idea.

Also butthurt creator's drone accounts are not helping. At all.

I was hoping that there would be something divergent or novel about this iteration (for lack of a better term) but besides a few small details, there is nothing driving me to look forward to the next entry(s).

I try to keep a fairly open mind in life and give something a chance, because I have found that closed-mindedness can limit my options or cause me to miss out,but I feel like I have with this and there is just no or not enough pay-off for me enjoyment/entertainment-wise.

I just cannot reconcile "re-doing" something that was already done, for the reasons stated by the creators.I have also researched things better and I applaud the idea of GLBT etc characters and incorporating their struggles into a series, but we are this far in and it has not become relevant yet.The creators appear to have talent and equipment, and have some good ideas along certain lines, but I do not feel that it's being executed in the best way and the controversy is not helping.

I'm a writer and a poet and artistic in other mediums.I have been alive for almost 50 years and there is pretty much nothing new under the sun. It's VERY challenging to come up with something new or innovative, because I guarantee it's all been said and done before at some point in time.I am a student of the Humanities,as well and I am surrounded by talented and creative people, and they will tell you the same.

So,if someone manages to create something that seems new and fresh,it gets noticed.Even though, after some research, the elements contained therin are probably,at best,a variation on a theme. Here we have the "Big Three".But they all have very similar elements and anything innovative is still ultimately drawn from somewhere else.I have been watching a lot of series here in the past month or two and have already given my opinion of some of them in their threads, but I am way behind in doing so for the others. It is my intention to remedy this very soon, but I've had some set-backs (illness, the holidays, work,my computer adapter dying, and most recently,a tornado/high winds.)

We have come to expect certain things in these series and I personally have no problem with certain elements existing in them if they are done well and are done organically and not shoe-horned in or done because it's expected. But,being a storyteller myself,I look for a good story/plot and it's not enough for me if someone is technically proficient,I want to be drawn in and feel for the characters and I want to care and be moved.I also want to be scared if it's horror.I want to be creeped-out and I want to feel uneasy.

I love Rob Zombie and was a teen when John Carpenter's"Halloween" came out.I was very unsure about him remaking it,but I gave it a chance and wound up being able to enjoy it for what it was.He had a vision and he told it the "Rob Zombie" way and gave some history and background.I enjoyed it for what it was and I know he respected the original creation/creator.I am a huge fan of Dario Argento and Giallo films. He is the master of that genre, and "Suspiria" is a masterpiece.Period.IMO,there is no way or no one that can do it better and every time I hear that someone wants to re-make it,I cringe. But,I would still be curious what their finished work looked like, because I'd be hard-pressed to imagine what they could do that would merit that remake, even if they varied things.

One time,my GF and I attended the yearly "Nevermore Horror Festival" like we would every year and the "remake" of "Psycho" was one of the films on the fest list. She had already seen it and loved it and I was torn because I felt the same way about this as I did about "remaking" Suspiria and couldn't imagine trumping the Master,Hitchcock. When I was then told that it was literally a shot-by-shot,angle by angle remake,I really could not see the point then. But,she convinced me to go and I like Anne Heche and I resigned myself to not liking it.Ultimately,it was a fun view because it was intriguing to see not what they did different, but how accurate and faithful they were to the original. The answer is pretty damn close,LOL!

Which brings me full circle. If the creators of "Porcelain Spiders" decide to make their own original series,I would watch the fuck out of it.I know what has been said, and I am here to tell you that there are a good number of series that have done some original things and brought some fresh elements into the Slender/Fear Mythos and they all have a similar vein running through them, but they also take some huge risks and I really need to catch up on voicing my opinion/lending my support to their respective threads because I feel many of them are being missed and it's a shame for both the creators and the fans/people that would eat it up,there are some feasts and tasty morsels to be had.One such series is "TrialofLeaves".Just started watching them a few days ago and caught up and they have posted a new entry that I'm now off to view.

I contained myself long enough to write this and I know it's a wall of text, but I feel some things (for ME) needed to be expressed.

Actually, this IS the place for your opinion, dipshit! That is literally what the entire EXISTENCE of this subforum is based on. To discuss existing ARGs and introduce people to new ARGs, and to see if they are worth watching.

Also, just pointing this out...

joined 1 day ago, 1 post, and defends this thing like they made it...seems fishy to me.

Agreed, all of my lulz are going to this series and the creator who made an account just to bitch at me.

It's like pure internet gold.

A bunch of people in the Porcelain Spiders fandom were discussing this thread, and I wasn't gonna make an account just to respond, but some of this hate is just stupid and doesn't make sense.

I've never watched a Slenderseries before, and I probably wouldn't have if it weren't for Porcelain Spiders. I have friends that love Marble Hornets, and while I didn't hate it I could never get into it. They said it was really cool because it was an alternate reality, but as far as I could tell the characters only existed in the show. Like I know the protagonist had a twitter but he didn't really talk to people. And I found it hard to feel for the characters because I didn't see anything in them that I could relate to.

They really like Porcelain Spiders too, and I'm glad it came along because we're all watching it together! I actually messaged Jane about something on her tumblr and she responded within a day. And her answer actually helped me understand the plot and characters more. We already know way more about the cast of this series than we ever knew about Marble Hornets.

Those of you who don't like it don't seem to get that it just isn't for you. It's mostly for the people you've alienated. I looked around this site and it's just the same people watching different series but with the same casts over and over. I'm really glad Porcelain Spiders a remake of another series, because it shows that you can get a whole new audience when you make some simple casting changes. I mean, one of you posted that there's no mention of LGBT identities yet, but I'm preeeeetty sure Seth is trans (and doesn't that mean this isn't a gender swap anymore, at least not fully?). I like the idea of LGBT identities not being the point of the series. Like yeah, Seth is trans, but the important part of his character is that he's the cameraman.

And like I said, my friends are hardcore Marble Hornets fans, but they like Porcelain Spiders too. According to them some of the Porcelain Spiders entries are shot-by-shot remakes, but some of them have really different dialog or editing or plot points in them. Like I said, I gave up on Marble Hornets early on, so all I have to go on is what they tell me, but I CAN say that complaining that they're too similar and too different in the same sentence doesn't make any sense. If you don't wanna watch it, just don't watch it. There's no need to post some four or five times about how shitty of an idea you think it is. Let the Marble Hornets creators decide if they're upset about it or not.

I really hope the site does delete this thread though. It'd be nice to start a new one so we can discuss the clues, which is hard to do via tumblr.

Ok now there's a second owner account, awesome. And they're still focused on my opinions which makes it even better.

Look, no one here cares (at least the majority) because we actually did watch MH since the first entries were coming out and to see someone just go "Oh well I'll just get my gal pals to re-enact MH except it'll have like 3 twists so it's different!" is just a blatant fuck you to the hardcore slenderverse fan. A real ARG doesn't even need to have another series in mind to get it off the ground, only exception I can think of is EMH and some of us honestly thought that this series was gonna take the same direction. But, it didn't. Sorry, I don't like it. And I really don't care if you want me to badly enough to make two accounts.
