The ironic thing is that this entry proves beyond a shred of a doubt that Tim was completely wrong to keep that tape from Jay. Jay actually did realize what Tim's reasoning for hiding it was. If Tim had just shown Jay the tape when he first found it, this whole thing wouldn't have happened, and Jay would still be alive now.

Or was completely right. Maybe what Tim was afraid of is that Jay would do exactly what he did.

Which is that exactly? Exploring a part of Rosswood he hasn't yet, something he should have done AGES ago??

Should have done? Really? Look what happened. Clearly, he should NOT have gone there, not then, not alone, possibly not at all. We still don't even know if he's alive or dead right now, but whatever his condition it's a direct result of his actions in this entry and the Operator attack. (Assuming nothing happened between this and #77 which we don't yet know about. But we have no reason to assume it did. We know an encounter with TO tends to heighten paranoia and block events from memory. Strangely though, Jay cannot have forgotten about this tape. He must have seen it at least once after he made it, since he transferred it to his laptop.)

Considering what seems to happen every single time they go to Rosswood, it's arguable they should stay away from the place period.

One thing I find hard to believe is that tim knows that he didn't get any calls that day, he is adamant about that.

He said, "From what I remember." That's not adamant; that's an admission that he knows his memory is faulty.

Oh, and what the muffins is that tall thing in the background at 5:56 and 6:26? I don't have a screenshot of it, so go check it out yourself. It looked like a tower to me at first, but then I thought it was a tree. I'm still not sure what it is.

Definitely some kind of tower. I can't tell what its function is.

Am I wrong in saying this was the tower that they climbed in the earlier videos? That's what I thought it was, but I could be wrong...

Great entry!

The tower you're now talking about is the Red Tower, which is located in "CollegeTown" (the home town of Jay and Alex where the series originally started). This entry takes place in Rosswood, thus it's not the same tower that they previous climbed and found tapes at.

To be honest, I don't think the very slight glimps of something tower-ish that we're seeing in this entry is of any importance at all Smile

Then again, one of the main points of this entry was things appearing in parts of Rosswood where they didn't belong, such as Jacob's Cabin being on the wrong side of the tunnel. Maybe the Tower somehow ended up in Rosswood...

Unlikely, but possible. I'll have to have a look at the timestamp in question.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jay and Tim have never solved anything by going to rosswood. In fact, the only thing that's done is get them attacked by either TO or Alex.

A couple observations:

What is Jay seeing that he knows isn't there? How does he know it isn't there? Or is he referencing his earlier bouts with seeing TO and Hoody when they didn't appear on the camera?

I think TO's first appearance in this entry is a lot like when Alex rushed TO in the playground and it disappeared suddenly. Perhaps this is supposed to further highlight how Jay is following the same path as Alex.

If you want to be cynical, they've never really solved anything by doing anything. But they only find out more about what happened by going to dangerous leads.

On the tower thing - I thought that it might be the old chimney thing, Jay ran into The Operator there? I don't remember the entry, but it was the one where Jay was meeting Alex and he went on a walk in Rosswood while he waited. I think it was the one where Alex said "You got lost in a forest you don't know." or something like that? But yeah, could it be one of the chimneys?

I'm starting to think it wasn't TO's fault for Jay becoming violent, he could have found something in Rosswood after the camera turned off that maybe made him actually change his mind about Tim, thus forcing him to do what he did in #77

Exactly. It's a pretty safe assumption if they keep going somewhere and keep getting attacked there's somethere about that location.

Hey, I have a wild theory.

When Jay entered Rosswood, he might be expecting the Operator to appear at some place because of what happened to almost all the visits to Rosswood.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"The theory goes that, through the Tulpa Effect, we thought the Slender Man into existence. While we cannot simply think him out of existence, we can shift our mental view of him so that he is not invincible." -http://theslenderman.wikia.com/wiki/Core_Theory

At 6:24 when he first saw the Operator in this video, he probably used the Core Theory and thought that the Operator is not there and that he is just hallucinating which makes the Operator vanish temporarily.

But then he becomes paranoid again and the Nocebo Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocebo) kicks in (he expects coughs and seizures like what he saw on Tim, Alex, others) and he experiences seizures causing the Operator to appear again (Jay expected him to (?))

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What if this is what the Operator wants us to think?

Btw, the "tower" thing looks like a building in construction. (see attachment)

Okay bye. Very Happy

Here's a thought: Now that Jay is (probably) dead we might get a Hoody reveal. Hoody may have been hiding him/herself from only Jay for some reason.

EDIT: Another thought. Tim was uncharacteristically violent to Jay in Entry #59. Did Tim get exposed to the operator between Entry #58 and Entry #59?

Yeah sure you didn't you fucking liar.

"the date on this was the day before Jay attacked me."

ATTACKED you? That's a pretty melodramatic way of saying that he walked into your house. You have no idea what he was planning to do, or if he even had a plan. He never fucking attacked you.

"caused him to go from apologetic to violent."

Walking into someone's house is an act of violence, guys. But stabbing people with a knife while wearing a Halloween mask? Totally normal.

Go fuck yourself, Tim.

just came in to say I'm laughing so hard at this, it actually sounds like a tumblrgirl trying to criticize someone in real life

like man you're fucking up

Well, it might be an explanation - however, we have to keep in mind that between Entry #58 and Entry #59 is when Tim found out about the MH youtube channel and looked through all of the videos. The amount of sudden information and shock he must've gone through whilst realising all about him being Masky, doing strange things he doesn't remember and such could've been more than enough to warrant such a reaction as seen in Entry #59.

The tower may be irrelevant, considering how Jay failed to acknowledge it. I was just drawing attention to it, should it become relevant. As it is, there's no use trying to figure it out now. Thanks for the screenshot, KestrelRocket.

You know what? Tim has survived for quite some time without his pills. In Entry 61, it suggested that he needs them frequently or else. Perhaps he ecountered the Øperator in his house? Seems likely that he'd need them then.
