Get in losers, we are getting more views on our videos

Just a concise guide to everyone that decides to anyone that wants to do their own Slender/Whatever series

Step one: WRITING:

Write a damn story. It doesn't have to be an Oscar award winning script, it is because of the damn formula of ''Duhhhh, strange things happened at home, don't remember seeing the tall man on the video, plz halp'' that the Slenderverse is fading away, people are tired of the same, the only thing that is keeping it alive are the main trio (TT/MH/EMH) wich are drasticly different one from the other.

Show your story to friends, narrate it to yourself, try to give the characters some personality, don't believe is good because you wrote it.

Innovate, create, it doesn't have to be Slendy, make your own monster, go wild on your thoughts!

Step two: DEALING WITH YOURSELF:

Do you have time to record stuff like this? Friends? Cast? Equipment? Don't think because you have a cellphone u can make your own series, no one wants to see a series filmed in 240pp from a mobile phone, before wasting your money think about all this stuff, what you will need and if you have in mind is in your range of economy. Is not funny to end up cancelling a series and keeping a cheap suit filled with a manequin in your garage

Step three: PRE-RECORDING:

Your audience doesn't want to wait 1 month for an episode and releasing 2 episodes each week is useless. You need to have a schedule, releasing an episode each week is good, is perfect actually, as long as you do it like any TV shows does, same day, same time.

This keeps you in the radar because YT knows you update on a regular basis and you will start popping up on those ''Recommended videos'' section for those who are looking for some scares. If you stop updating.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Maybe many lines of what i said here are making me sound like a broken record but unless you want the only views to be just you and your friends who wanted to see their shitty performance in front of a camera then try this steps, sometimes is better to dedicate your time to something else, maybe this isn't your thing afterall, but if it is, put time and effort into it.

You want people to see you? Give them something GOOD to see then!

(I'm not a creator, but I am a viewer, so my thoughts are probably worth something..?)

I disagree with this completely. A standard uploading schedule, "same day, same time," every week? There is no way that I can get immersed in a series like that. Whatever happened to the idea of realism in this 'verse?

Plus, knowing exactly when a video will be uploaded ruins part of the fun (in my opinion). I get a thrill whenever I check YouTube and find that a series I like has updated; if it were to always update at the same time, that part of the experience would be gone.

Don't get me wrong, some kind of reasonable update schedule is needed. Releasing one video every two or three months is a bad idea, and I wouldn't suggest releasing ten videos in a week, either. Of course, there are exceptions (e.g., Tribe Twelve, the Riddle of the Treeman).

In the end, I suppose that what matters is that however often you upload satisfies both you and your fans. That matters much more than some fancy rules about how often you should or should not update.

I understand you completely, i allways enjoy to see the new MH video on my sub box. I do disagree in the attempt to try make it look as real as possible, it's a paranormal series of course is not real, it's the wrtiers and actors job to make you feel immersed in what you are watching

I clearly said this was to get more VIEWS to be able to be noticed easier, if you did a series just to be watched by you, then why did you even bother uploading it to Youtube?

How about changing the title of this thread to something that is actually meaningful, and not frivolous? I had no idea what this thread was going to be about until I clicked through. Not good.

Also...

A.) don't we already have half a dozen threads about what viewers want, etc.?
B.) This is a forum for PLAYERS/VIEWERS not creators. Can you give me a compelling reason why this thread belongs?

Step 1 and 2 already have been done.

Step 3 is very tricky to deal from my experience.

Pre-recording is very difficult if you live in a diverse climate (Like I do) and the videos are supposed to have been filmed recently.

Not to mention if you do pre-recordings you will be stuck with that footage when you suddenly get a brilliant idea and you can't re-film it for some reason.
