I'll tell you how I got a P instead of an M: I misread it Embarassed . Sorry about that. Can you tell cryptography isn't my strong suit? Rolling Eyes

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Marble Hornets crew may have done something very very bad and forgotten about it (Oldboy, anyone?) or blocked those memories (Machinist) and TO is materialized emotional trauma and/or guilt. That would explain pills at least (amnesiac, neural cooldown). TTA constantly talks about revenge and his hatred towards Tim and especially Alex. Of course there is much simpler explanation: he/she hates Alex for giving them to TO, but sometimes I get the feeling that there is much much more reasons for hatred.
Unrelated: maybe Hoody is burnt under the mask?

This right here has made the most sense to me. To sum up:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Something bad happened during the making of Marble Hornets, everybody blocked it out, and The Operator is a mental manifestation of either guilt or rage, very likely with Tim as the culprit (I like the references to Oldboy and The Machinist, but in this case it reminds me more of Paranoia Agent). TTA's actions and anger at Tim's lying would make more sense if Tim turned out to be the one "summoning" TO, even if it's accidentally.

Of course not - we're already in it. Troy has stated that we're in "the last chunk" and "home stretch." He has also said it's unlikely that it will still be going come next GMX, which tends to be in October. Most likely only a few more months of MH left.

Ah, I didn't know. I hope the teasing out of Hoody's identity will be organic and not rushed, but given that they seem to be filming entries more frequently then before, it shouldn't be a problem Smile

I do not know if this is significant at all, but I didn't see anyone mentioning this:
IA(X)NR
If we were to take the operator symbol as a letter O, then we can rearrange the letters to:
NOAIR
Which could be tied with people being underwater and suffocating?
I don't know, just a little thing that I've noticed.

I had some similar thoughts about the water, maybe the coughing TO causes is even related to that.

However, I find it most problematic to handle the code by randomly rearrangeing the letters to get some meaning out of it. If that were the solution, it had to apply to the Numbers as well. So you would then need to get some meaning out of them too, just by rearrangeing. Doubt that'll work.

Maybe the number of flashes I posted on page five are some kind of construction plan to order the thing into something which then has to be decoded. Like putting them in a matrix and then only ready this or that line or something.
C'mon guys, I'm not the best at this. Get creative.

Null doesn't necessarily mean zero, in programming especially null means literally nothing or an object containing nothing, which is different from zero.
I figured TTA was using the programming term of null seeing as s/he has been fond of computer language in the past.

In programming null still means zero. Null derives from the macro NULL in C, which is defined in stddef.h, the definition is literally

Code:
#define NULL 0

For pointer values, the address 0x0000 (aka 0) refers to a location where memory cannot be read or written to. NULL was just a convenient way of denoting a pointer pointed to a zero address, since assigning the literal 0 may make it look like you were declaring a mathematical value rather than a pointer. Uses in Java, etc, derive from this, and null in Java and C# still generally refers to a zero address internally. Some other programming languages use nil for these values which also just means zero.

In data formats, you still hear the term "null terminated" (e.g. "null terminated buffer" or "null terminated string") a lot, which means that the buffer's end is marked with the value 0.

That said, there are cases where it effectively means "empty" or "devoid". For instance, the null hypothesis refers to the default assumption assuming no results are found. The null set also generally refers to the empty set. However, calling it the "zero hypothesis" or the "zero set" makes just as much sense to me, so I don't think you can really say that null and zero have horribly distinct meanings in English unless you want to nitpick about really specific cases.

In SQL, 0 and NULL are distinctly different, though.

They're distinct, but they're basically still just different kinds of zero. One is "initialized as an integer, but has the value 0" and the other is "has the zero value for this type and is uninitialized". Same as in Java. The integer 0 and the keyword null are different in the language, but they're still semantically different types of zeroes (one is the zero primitive, the other is the zero reference).

Either way, enough people have said it that it's not like it couldn't be what was meant by the title. It's not like the pedantic stuff I said makes it what they really meant. That said, I'm not convinced any deep truth is hidden in the title, my official stance is that it sounded good and they picked it because whatever way you choose to read "null" it could be seen as series-related. (Either as the 0 in the operator symbol, a reference to the emptiness of TO or any other number of things).

First omg yay its a new totheark.

Secondly is it just me or is there a scream at the end of the video.

I also remembered while watching this video about one of the previous totheark videos first was the video called Operator it had a message that said "Lakes in stillnesss will take every life of the night." My main question is does anyone thinks that the lake in this entry can be some how connected to that message.

Another reference to a lake or water was in Broadcast where the image looks like its being shot from underwater. Also In Display there is the footage of under water. I am starting to wonder if the ark is under water in the lake or something like that. There has been several other references to the lake in videos but I cant remember all of them right now.

So what do you guys think of this?

For probably the billionth time… fire/water motifs.

TTA video Deluge
"lakes in stillness…"
Jay's apartment burned down
The hospital also burned down
Rosswood is full of trees, which are flammable.
Alex burned the tapes.
The tunnel appears to be for water.
The basement of that place in the university was destroyed in a flood.

Are there any more I'm forgetting?

The house in Entry #34 and Entry #35 (Alex's return address) was burned down.
Alex (probably mistakenly) refers to the red tower as a fire department something in Entry #5.
Masky films water in Entry #41.

what i got from the title Null was the phrase "null and void" and i just thought the void part was the location in the description- the slenderverse is the void- like place Tim will have to visit again.
this tta really makes me anxious for the next entry!

am I the only one who thinks ark or the ark could refer to death of some sort... because in entry 79 in paper reads "Find Alex Find the Ark"

Well he found Alex, didn't he?

Also in Null is says ark awaits, that could mean death awaits. OR when you are 'killed' the operator takes to a void of sorts. Hence the word 'Null'.

I used this code and removed letters from the names of the two channels from the code one by one, when I got to a letter that wasn't in the code or had been removed I wrote it down.

I ended up turning "MarbleHornets" into "Lone" and "totheark" into "Ok".

Is there anything significant if we take the operator symbol in the sets of five letters as a zero (taking "null" as the hint)?
