Wouldn't having little messages like that in the WAV make it unreadable as a C64 file? Maybe we'll eventually uncover a direct recording from one of these pages.

That occurred to me. The voice is at a pretty low volume already so maybe it won't affect things too much. I might be able to remove the voice with a high pass filter. I'll try that next.

For now, I sped up the original extracted audio exactly 2x (that made the voice sound the most natural) and then used Audiotap. There are a few settings that you can play with when converting the .wav to .tap. A couple of my attempts actaully load but then give me an out of memory error in a C64 emulator.

That's all I got for now :/

I seem to have got it to work, by changing the machine in the advanced settings to Vic-20, and running it in Vice's V20-specific emulator.

I have absolutely zero idea how to use these things, though, it just keeps giving me a syntax error.

I got the TAP file produced from the sped up WAV to run on a C64 emulator, but it just does nothing, then it halts. I'm not really sure what to make of it. If you look at it in a text editor, it is just a bunch of ascii symbols. Doesn't look like anything. We are missing something vital to this thing.

Don't know if it's related, but the html source code for frog fractions has a dating sim thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else : http://twinbeard.com/511-less-than-slash-three

Oh, and I tried to extract the youtube audio convert to wav and then to .tap and load it using a c64 emulator but it loads and crashes to a flashing ready. prompt so I think I'm doing something wrong.

The game itself is mentioned the Games tab, but as an offsite game jam thing that's not working anymore. You've apparently found a mirror of it.

On that page's source code was a link to an on-site version of the Obama shaving game, marked with WIP: http://twinbeard.com/leadership

On the main FF source page, I found another unlisted WIP game as well, but it doesn't seem to be of that much interest. http://twinbeard.com/baldies

So, its interesting that C64 Video is uploaded by Kernal Mandelbrot

KERNAL is related to the C64's Operating System http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KERNAL

Mandelbrot is a famous fractal - known for its shape like a bug (tie in with both frogs and fractions), and brot is also the German word for Bread......

Mandel is also German for almond. Was there a recipe for almond bread on there?

What about the 'hit counter' message in the original video? The bread pages have hit counters, but they all seem to be linked to an external hit counter site, which doesn't seem to be part of the game.

Here's something interesting. The Brainfuck code that's on all the Twinbread pages makes reference to a particular brainfuck interpreter. That interpreter accepts stdin...

There are some seemingly random characters at the bottom of the message that is displayed, but changing stdin changes what those characters are.

It seems that the program reads 13 characters of input, but I think the first two characters are ignored. Here's an example:
in: QQaaaaaaaaaaa
out: _LMMN_LMMN_
in: ZZbbbbbbbbbbb
out: `MNNO`MNNO`

It looks like we need a 13 character code to uncover what that 11 character message is.

frogfractions?

Edit: Oh, wait, kernaloftruth also works, and is probably more fitting.

Okay guys, I figured out what our brainfuck code is doing. It ignores the first two char (as previously stated. It uses those to increment and array counter by 1 or something), then it takes the remaining 11 and output the ascii value of that char - 21, with slight variations.

so TESTESTESTT gives us

S = Q (S - 2)
T = ? ( T - 21)
T = @ ( T - 21 + 1)
E = 1 (E - 21 + 1)
S = @ (S - 21 + 2)
T = R ( T - 2 )
T = ? (T - 21)
E = 1 (E - 21 + 1)
S = ? (S - 21 + 1)
T = A ( T - 21 + 2)
T = R (T - 2)

== Q?@1@R?1?AR

Maybe we can use this algorithm to reverse out a solution? Idk, this will at least help

I have another thing that might be a clue. Mandelbrot is a famous Mathematician. (actually coined the phrase "fractals"). The poem from the "recipie13.html" is an excerpt from a poem by Omar Khayyám, who is a famous Persian philosopher and mathematician. There is a lot of math stuff going on here. I think that is a good place to hone in on when looking for clues.

Are you using the brainfuck.tk interpreter? When I input 'TESTESTESTT', the output is:

Q?1?AC>@@
