Out of curiosity, has anyone tried steganographic decoders on the varying bizarre images littered around twinbread.com?

Part of me is wondering if the code generated as part of the brainfuck output can be used as a passcode on either bread.gif or kernal.png

Maybe I'm overthinking that side of it, though.

Are you using the brainfuck.tk interpreter? When I input 'TESTESTESTT', the output is:

Oh, sorry, I wrote the wrong input string in my post. The string was TESTTESTTESTT

I tested my algorithm with other string (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ YYYYYYYYYYYYY, etc) and it holds up.

Would it be possible to implement the effect of the brainfuck code in a more practical language, and then iteratively input all possible combinations of letters and then check if the output contains a word from a dictionary? (i.e. check output of "aaaaaaaaaaaaa" , "aaaaaaaaaaaaab" etc. for words from a defined 'dictionary'). No idea how to implement this or if it is even possible...

I used catherwood's missing prime list and compared it to the list of actual primes. Here are the missing indices (I compared them using this script and prime list). It didn't trigger any hits on OEIS but maybe there's something encoded here anyway.

Code:
3, 8, 64, 69, 125, 130, 186, 191, 247, 252, 309, 314, 370, 376, 377, 431, 437, 439, 492, 497, 500, 553, 557, 560, 591, 614, 618, 620, 649, 652, 675, 679, 681, 710, 713, 721, 722, 736, 740, 742, 771, 775, 776, 777, 778, 779, 780, 781, 797, 801, 803, 829, 830, 831, 832, 833, 834, 835, 836, 858, 862, 864, 887, 888, 889, 893, 897, 919, 954, 958, 968, 969, 970, 971, 972, 980, 1000, 1010, 1015, 1019, 1027, 1028, 1029, 1041, 1048, 1049, 1050, 1051, 1052, 1061, 1071, 1076, 1080, 1088, 1102, 1103, 1104, 1105, 1106, 1107, 1108, 1114, 1115, 1116, 1117, 1123, 1132, 1137, 1141, 1149, 1150, 1163, 1178, 1179, 1184, 1193, 1198, 1202, 1211, 1212, 1213, 1214, 1215, 1216, 1217, 1218, 1224, 1240, 1241, 1245, 1254, 1259, 1263, 1278, 1279, 1285, 1302, 1306, 1314, 1315, 1320, 1324, 1339, 1346, 1363, 1367, 1368, 1375, 1381, 1386, 1399, 1407, 1424, 1425, 1429, 1435, 1436, 1442, 1447, 1458, 1459, 1468, 1486, 1490, 1491, 1495, 1496, 1508, 1517, 1518, 1519, 1529, 1545, 1546, 1547, 1552, 1553, 1554, 1555, 1556, 1569, 1576, 1577, 1590, 1603, 1604, 1605, 1630, 1634, 1635, 1636, 1651, 1652, 1653, 1654, 1655, 1656, 1657, 1658, 1659, 1660, 1661, 1662, 1663, 1753, 1754, 1755, 1756, 1757, 1758, 1809, 1810, 1811, 1812, 1813, 1814, 1819, 1820, 1821, 1822, 1823, 1824, 1825, 1826, 1827, 1862, 1863, 1864, 1865, 1866, 1867, 1868, 1869, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2078, 2079

The index is counted from zero upwards, here's the list incremented by one instead.

Edit: According to my listening tests, the audio in the Kernal of Truth video is datassette signal for a 50Hz PAL computer. This would mean no speed changes are needed. I couldn't get it to produce a complete program with WAV-PRG though. Maybe it's just data?

So, something about that Obama Beard game.

There's 2 layers of beard. Top layer, you attack with scissors. However, the important one is the second layer, where you have to shave.

If you manage to shave some of the second layer before the time runs out, only part of it grows back the next day.

So, first time round, it pays to only cut half the beard and shave half the second layer, instead trying to do the entire top layer.

Playing it with this strategy ultimately means that the game gets progressively easier, because you have less beard to shave in the time limit.

I'm assuming the game will reward you with something if you manage to complete it perfectly. TL:DR, its easier to get a clean shaven Obama when you only have to shave half a beard.

Note that if you shave the entirety of both layers, even if you don't rinse the shaving cream off, only small bits of the first layer that you likely missed anyway will grow back. Speedy clickers can get those little bits in 3 seconds easily, then you only have the second and pseudo-third (red bumps) layers to worry about. The second layer seems to regrow entirely each day no matter what, however, and I can't get rid of the red bumps fast enough due to the odd spray-like mechanics.

The PUBLIC_FIGURE time/place is the only thing the Obama shaving game has in it. Also, Frog Fractions's IF section has no more secrets to be found in it, and, due to the mostly linear nature of the game, it's unlikely that there's anything else to be found anywhere else in the game.
This isn't speculation, but fact. Decompilation of .swf is a wonderful thing.

Anyway, list of unresolved clues, as I think there are:

  • (469) BEA-RDS4
  • stdin for code in source
  • Kernal of Truth's audio
  • List of missing primes
  • Relevance of recipe 13's quote

Thanks for this. It will stop people like me fruitlessly exploring pointless avenues. [Edit: Just remembered, there's also the unsolved 0451 page counter clue.]

Could someone record and upload what happens when you phone (469) BEA-RDS4? It could be something that requires audio manipulation.

Thanks, uberhacker. I decided to just print out 0 and 1s corresponding to the indices of the missing primes in the list for no good reason and ended up with this:

I thought I was seeing things, so I used the same method to draw an image:

http://i.imgur.com/3a7eu8I.png

Pretty sure it says Butts.

There appears to be a butt drawn on the B, as well.

Nice! That's the second reference to 'butts'... (http://twinbread.com/butts.html)
Wonder what the significance is?

Has anyone noticed that there appears to be a person humming near the end of the Kernal of Truth audio (after being sped up)? I've extracted the humming, sped it up, amplified it, and removed most of the high-pitched noise in the background.

Does anyone recognise this tune from anywhere? I've tried doing a musical search on it, but to no avail. (I still probably didn't transcribe it properly.)

My immediate thought...

Twinbeard, Twinbread, Twinbutts.

Sadly, there's no Twinbutts.com

Probably irrelevant, but there is a butt related song on the Frog Fractions soundtrack, though. "Get Your Ass To Mars". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfu0hpHbIu8

Well. I think I found the secret of the BF (sort of).

Type in "XXbuttsbuttsb" as the input.

The output is "```````````".

That doesn't get us anywhere, but it's clearly intentional.

Butts reference number 3!

For the sake of posterity, attached is a static dump of twinbread.com that was generated when the last 4 digits of the counter were equal to 0451. Nothing significant leaps out at me.
