Okay guys so basically we pretty much got... nobody. I guess we'll just have to hope we're lucky and whatever is important for the arg will be visible enough in the general media coverage, or that somebody will come to us after the thing, or... I don't know.

I'm attending the festival (I'm a speaker and we're showing a game), so I'll check it out. We've got a houseful of peeps here who are all very intrigued.

We'll be at the festival site tomorrow, but the games aren't being shown until Friday, so I'll scope stuff out, but whatever it is might not be accessible for a while.

Phew, thank goodness. I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to get anybody to check it out, especially because of the cost to attend the whole festival, since we don't really know what day any related stuff will be shown/present/whatever. Thanks, lhall, you're a hero. 👍 Very Happy

Just out of curiosity, what game are you showing?

Thank you so much!! I don't know how much you have been following the whole thing, so I'll replicate my list of "things to watch out for" here, maybe it helps you:

* Anything with the "Ashby" name on it, specially games or beers. The "Ashby Beer and Indie Games Studio" is a big thing in the ARG.

* Stuff with the number 17 - again, specially games or beers. The number has been coming up a lot lately.

* Anything weird involving time traveling, like people RP'ing time travellers, or something.

* The main characters so far are: Gadsby, Herbie, Number Six, Dwayne, William, Charles Foster Ashby. If you see anything with one of these names on it, please let us know!

* Frogs? Not likely to have a lot to do with frogs, but anyway, weird stuff involving frogs could be a hint.

* If you see Jim Crawford during the event, please stalk him! No, just kidding, but if possible, at least say Hi, buy him a beer (we can refund you later) and ask for instructions.

* If you see the guys from the Red Pages Podcast, please say Hi to them, buy them a beer if possible (we can refund you later) and ask for instructions. According to this tweet they will be wearing a green shirt with a lime in it and a red polo? Something like that!

* butts?

* If you see someone LARP'ing as Rosencrantz (the guy from Hamlet) please also keep an eye on that.

* Anything involving bread, or the acronym B.R.E.A.D., might be related.

* Operation Glitterbuster (whatever it means)

* The game "Operation", from 1965, and Milton Bradley.

Make sure to record anything that looks suspicious. Especially any conversations involving the ARG.

All I've seen odd with the new thd is that the first second of the 17th minute was deleted from the podcast. Didn't yet listen to the entire thing, but it's a lot shorter than usual.

No rider mail this week.

The YouTube video of this episode is not missing that part. In fact, the YouTube version of the podcast is a whole 14 seconds longer than the mp3 on the THD website.

Sorry man but I didn't understand what you mean... you found ID3 tags somewhere?

sorry didn't clarify. It does have an ID3 tag with an image added, but the image appeared in my preview pane after I downloaded the file.
I would guess the file is embedded somehow using ID3.

edit: using win8.1, if that will matter.

Yes, there is an ID tag with those words (white on a black background) in THD 24.

Riccardo Zacconi is the CEO of king.com, makers of Candy Crush Saga and many other games I haven't played.

This is probably a play on Waiting for godot, a tragicomedy in two acts, by Samuel Beckett. It's an absurdist comedy, similar to "Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead"

Youtube 2 x 180 pixel bands
Not a solution, but hopefully it'll help.

So with the pixel bands we found on Youtube, I thought I'd try to just mix them around and shortly came to the conclusion that I'd like to have all permutations to see if it made anything, but I was feeling lazy and wanted to see if there was a way to do it in as few numbers as possible. Long story short, I read that a mathematician worked to solve a problem related to this sort. (for example: 121 has all combos of 1 and 2 without repeating, 123121321 for 1, 2 and 3, etc)

If you're interested in the math, I found it here

Using a combo they came up with for 6 numbers, I made this

I'm having doubts this would be too helpful, but maybe someone can see something in the image that may shed some light on at least what the bands could mean.

edit: the bands were taken from thds 9, 11, 12, 13, 15 and 20 thumbnails on twinbeard's Youtube channel.
